One of the best things about going to a car show is seeing the different types of cars that show up. This is even more true in the "special interest" category where the RED TUB is registered if there isn't a "kit car" class.

Have entered two shows this summer.

At the first show it started pouring down rain after about 80 cars lined up. Organizers closed entries and judging early, tallied the results and handed everything out in record time. By the time they finished up, it had stopped raining and the sun came out - go figure. The RED TUB added to her trophy count in the kit car class.

In the second show yesterday, an eleven year old girl won the special interest class with her "go cart". What a great day for her! Two years ago there was an awesome lawn tractor that took the honors.....You gotta love it.)

Having a good time, Cal?

At Myrtle Point, Oregon last weekend, the car show had one block of nothing but restored farm tractors, a second block had several restored military jeeps (complete with a rat patrol 50 caliber up top), one Porsche 356 Coupe and a genuine Radio Flyer red wagon with 4 wheel independent suspension, B & S motor, and 35 MPH top speed. I'm not even countin' the rat rods. Ya gotta love this stuff!
Oh heck, David, that Myrtle Point show is a blast! I was out of town this year, otherwise I'd have run Dad's SS (and Dad!) up there for it and gotten to meet you!

Old military jeeps rock! Quite a few guys around here go full-boat on them and have every accessory proper for the use of the vehicle on the vehicle. Really gives you alot to look at and can take them years to accumulate all the proper items. Great detail!

Cal--I do love car shows. Got the next one this coming Saturday. This will make 4 shows and 5 trophies if my Speedster wins. (Got one peoples choice plus a first place at one show). I enjoy introducing these wonderful cars to folks and most of them in these parts have never seen a Speedster except in movies. I put a framed sheet in the windshield with complete details even the manufacturer in Hawaiian Gardens. Lots of "how to tips" from the nice members here. Such fun.
