Caravan to West Coast Meet in SLO...

I realize that this is a little early, but for the sake of those making this trip for the first time, here is the SoCal routine of the past 6 years;

 

Those traveling from SoCal can rendezvous with this caravan in the following manner;

 

1) Departing Friday morning June 7, 2013

 

2) Main gathering location will be Topanga Ranch Motel in Malibu Beach. This is just north of where Topanga Cyn Rd intersects with Pacific Coast Hwy.

 

3) 08:30 - SOCers from Orange County & San Diego county can rendezvous at the CVS on Seal Beach Blvd (just north of the 405 fwy). Departing CVS parking lot @ 09:00 for Malibu Beach.

 

4) 10:00 - Rendezvous at Topanga Ranch Motel. Meet & greet, depart Topanga Ranch Motel @ 10:30

 

5) Caravan north on PCH along coastline to Los Posas exit (approx 40 miles). Caravan north on Los Posas to junction with 101 Fwy. Gather in parking lot behind McDonalds. Lunch & top off fuel.

 

6) 12:00 - Depart lunch & fuel location, caravan north on 101 Fwy to Santa Barbara. May stop in Ventura for additional SOCers.

 

7) Continue caravan along coastline to Santa Maria. Exit Batteravia, easy off/on for fuel and pit stop (Mobile & Chevron).

 

8) Continue caravan to San Luis Obispo with ETA 4:00PM. Mileage from Malibu to SLO = 190mi / 3 hrs

BUMP;

 

1 week until West Coast SOC @ San Luis Obispo (SLO)

 

Looking for headcount as to who will join the SoCal caravan on Friday morning (06/07/13). Southern most rendezvous is in Seal Beach. This southern group will continue to Malibu (Topanga Ranch Motel) to join up with remainder of SoCal group.

 

Chime in for head-count so I will know who to expect/wait-for at each point.

It's simple.

 

Use 'I' when it is the subject:  Blake and I are going to the show.

 

Use 'Me' when it is the object:  Give the wrench to Blake and me.

 

And - of course - out of respect to Emily Post, you always place the other person first.

 

I had the good fortune of attending high school when grammar and composition were still a part of the curriculum, before 'creative writing' became a subject worthy (?) of study.

Good lesson Bob  --  I came from that era too.  But I always had trouble figuring out the difference between subject and object.  So I mentally wrote it as if the "other" person wasn't there:

I am going to the show.

Give the wrench to me.

 

Then I would just inject the other person in front of I or me:

Blake and I are going to the show.

Give the wrench to Blake and me.
