My car started popping on deceleration recently.
Today when I tried to adjust the mixture screws on the left carb, nothing happened - I can turn them all the way in or out with no change.
I pulled the idle jets, and they're clean as a whistle.
The engine is a 2110 with dual Weber 44's.
Any ideas will be appreciated.

Thanks

Dave

Remove carbs; remove manifolds. Check manifold to head mating surface for flatness and have a slight truing cut made parallel to the carb mounting surface on both if necessary (keep manifolds the same height).

If the top of the cast carb to head mounting flange ears on the manifold are not parallel to the gasket surface have truing cuts made so that they are (this will insure sealing integrity as engine temperatures change).

Cement new gaskets to the manifolds then trim gaskets to match the ports with a small sharp hobby knife.

Liberally lubricate the gasket on the cyl head side with Chap-Stick or vaseline (gaskets won't stick to the head the next time you remove manifolds) then reinstall manifolds and torque the mounting nuts evenly in 2 or 3 steps to 12 ft. lbs.
