Anyone who had followed my tale of frustration about super rich and back firing carbs etc, the whole deal has been ironed out.
The car originally had a 2180, albeit one of those weak JCX junkers. It had the big Dells but a small 1 3/8 Bugpack exhaust.
WHen I had a built a 1776 motor installed it ran way to rich---so dark that the plugs were almost black.
Now with the 1 1/2 inch dual exhaust system on, I took the car on a long 250 mile trip. Once back I checked the plugs. They are a nice gray (brown maybe) and even all around. Eddie's mantra to me---"One thing at a time" was absolutely right.

Yes, GOrdon. I was amazed how all that stuff, back pressure, flow, pipe diameter, carburetion all works together.
I have a friend who has one of those 200mph Miatas---dynoed at 300 hp with Supercharger etc. Needs a laptop to tweak it. Maybe one day I will want to go there with mass air flow meters etc etc but I guess i am comfortable with techology that I grew up with. Even tho I have been tweaking points,, carbs exhaust etc I still learn something new, but at least I am not starting all over. I am trying to learn some new software and after 10 years on a diffent system I feel like I can really identify with a friend who had a stroke. He would read, understand and then the next day have to start all over. And I so not yet consider myself a geezer, lol or Old F.
So now that it is all together and runs great, what so I do now?
