There were close to 100 cars here today and lots of interesting things to see.

I just don't understand the presence of new cars at car shows unless they have been altered significantly since leaving the factory. It just means that somebody wrote a check recently.

Depends on the new car. Some people will never get to see some of those new cars up close and may find them interesting. Especially in some areas. I know at our monthly PCA meet ups some of the guys will bring Ferraris and McLarens, etc. People that attend to spectate may never see some of those cars up close and it gives them an opportunity to see them.
I guess I should have been more specific. I meant judged car shows.
The police rescue vehicle doesn’t have a front plate.
Note to self: "Carcadia" is a great place to visit a C&C.
The Arcadia "Rescue Vehicle", IMHO, is a waste of money and overkill to the extreme. It was a military vehicle they bought and spent $66K to make it pretty. It's a giant truck and very heavy because of the 1/2" thick steel doors, walls and floors. It make's a great platform for the boom and winch on the front.
Los Angeles County has lots of Search and Rescue vehicles and equipment available to cover the entire County. Whenever a mountain/canyon rescue is required, they respond. Thats all they do. Arcadia is a flatland City, except for two square blocks up in the foothills so we get practically no mountain rescues here. When we do, they call the County anyway.
This was just someone's wet dream to build and had fun doing it. Since the Police Dept. owns it, it should have been painted black and white not, "Army Green" but then again, maybe the person responsible for this boondoggle likes to paint his toys "Army Green" !
JonT.......Yup, no plates. I'm guessing but maybe it's because that class of salvaged Army vehicle is not licensable for street use in Calif.
Check out the tires and wheels below.................Bruce
