I have a wisdom tooth that says you're wrong, Doc.
And we have Jack "Chicken Bones and Voodoo" Crosby coming, too.
Just for added insurance, I bought both brake-light and oil-pressure replacement switches this morning.
She'll be sunny, and I won't be having any silly little car troubles!

"Chicken Bones and Voodoo Crosby" here.

Dr. Howard--I think your back is forecasting local conditions because that's where your back is today--not in Harrisburg.

The Accuweather extended forecast is in line with my earlier forecast for Harrisburg and very promising for a great weekend;

Friday, May 20, 74 degrees and mostly cloudy
Saturday, May 21, 75 degrees and partly sunny
Sunday, 70 degrees and partly sunny.

I'm trading my chicken bones in for Bullfrog Sunscreen cuz I'm gonna need it!

We ae looking good for nice temps and sun!

Check it yourself; www.accuweather.com
Cory , Have a few cold ones along with the voodoo stuff for me. Iraq was an interesting place. The PPE ie flack / Kevlar vests and helmets weren't every comfortable to wear .Though when we heard some gun fire nearby the gear was suddenly comfortable. From the desert heat to out in the open water. Hopefully I'll be home soon.

Hey I switched out my brake pressure switch out for an electrical one . The brake pressure switch did not work consistantly . My concern was having someone rear end me because the barke lights did not work.

Post some pictures of get together.

Carlisle must be one of the screwiest weather places on Earth.

Some years the forecast was for light overcast and we got downpours.

Other years we expected intermittant rain and got gorgeous sunshine.

2006 (when we built Lane's car) it almost felt like it was gonna snow at times.

Sometimes there is rain all around the show (you can see it off in the distance) but not a drop on the show grounds.

I would trust both accu-weather and their "Sunny-Skies 5000" weather radar, and then Alan and Wild Bill for what THEY think is gonna happen.

One thing for sure.....Chris and I will sure miss all y'all this year......

Carlisle weather is screwy due to the Tuscarora mountains that are to the west and to the south from Carlisle into Maryland is a huge valley.
I remember years ago when the PA announcer bellowed....
"TAKE COVER NOW" just moments later a 65 mpg horizontal wind blew through the show field taking an awful lot of EZ up tents with it. Bruce, I belive you were also there that year? I do have it on good authority that we'll be basking in good weather this year. ~Alan
Yup, we were there. Hotfoot and I were in one of the buildings and when we came out a huge, ugly black cloud was heading in our direction. The top was down and a bunch of stuff was stowed under the car. As we were scrambling to get the car loaded, get the top up and get the hell out of there an enthusiast walked up and started nonchalantly asking questions about the car - dude! We made it halfway back to the hotel when the traffic stopped, the sky turned green and rain blew horizontally through the Speedster. It was wild. I had never had the car in the rain nor washed it with a hose so the electrical connections got their first successful test that day. We later heard there was a tornado farther north. What year was that, Alan?

Gordon - we are definitely going to miss you and Chris this year.

"Chicken Bones and Voodoo Crosby" - I LIKE your forecast!
I know you're the local expert Alan, but I think ole' Voodoo Crosby needs to retain the official 2010 weather-guesser mantle. He's going to have to roll through whatever hits going AND coming.
How about it there, Voodoo? We're looking for a Thursday through Sunday from you ...
OK--Accuweather has gotten their act together and has posted an improved forecast that shows NO RAIN for our Carlisle visit!

Friday, Mostly sunny, 76 degrees
Saturday, mostly cloudy, 79
Sunday, mostly cloudy, 79

Good to see the forecast steadily improving.

Rain trembles when it sees my watertight Speedster heading it's way.
Cory--I'm rolling outta Hot Springs early Tuesday AM and will overnite in Knoxville for the annual Mr. & Mrs Hoss dinner at a great restaurant outside of Kville. Wed to Christiansburg caravaning with Hoss and overnight in C'burg with 5-10 fanatics. Thurs to Carlisle stopping in MD somewhere for the annual part-way lunch with several more crazies--you too, I believe---and on to Carlisle later that afternoon.

Wx enroute looks ok and the Harrisburg forecast is improving.

I have never seen the Hoopty and am looking forward to seeing Bert, you, and the Hoopty.(in that order!)

Loaded a few tools today and all that's left is to load a small suitcase, fuel up and launch.

Can't wait!
I can't wait to have lunch with you at the Hagarstown Shoney's, Jack!
Teresa's looking forward to it also -- to say nothing of the car! The Mighty Fightin' Hoopty is looking forward to having another T-IV around to shoot the breeze with!
Take care on your drive, and thanks in advance for the good weather!

Alice will miss Carlisle this year. No, it's not that she had all she could take with the Morro Bay trip, but our daughter is having a baby shower in Alexandria, VA on Sat the 22nd so that's where she will be.

My son, Russ will join us though, along with a couple of his friends. He's driving a frame off restoration he just completed from Wilson, NC. A '69 Bug that is spectacular. Built his own type 1 engine and did everything to do with the car--even painted it himself. Over a 3 year project.
