Bill---now THAT'S what we are all talking about! Best wx update yet---the forecasts have improved each day---thanks for the update.

Leon--I don't know if Russ' car has heat or not--I imagine it does but we'll see. He was concerned as there is a little interior work still remaining but he's bringing it anyway. He is quite a fine mechanic and before he became Microsoft certified and working for BBT Bank as the top computer guy, he Managed all the yacht engine repair & maintenance for the Ocean Reef Club South of Miami. It was not uncommom to see CASES of Crystal Champagne on some of those boats. That stuff's way more expensive than even Oban!

Looks like boating weather for Carlisle though!

RAIN MOVES OUT, TEMPERATURES WARM UP!

The disturbance that caused all of our rainfall during the first part of this week has lifted to the north and east leaving behind some clouds, but taking most of the rainfall with it. Today should stay mainly dry, although a stray shower cannot be ruled out this afternoon. Clouds will stick around for one more day, but the sunshine could peek out later today too. High temperatures rebound nicely into the mid to upper 60s. Tonight will bring partly cloudy conditions with lows in the mid 50s. Tomorrow and Friday will be a nice way to round-out a rather ugly week so far. Both days offer highs near 80 with sunshine. The weekend brings the threat for more rain, especially Sunday, but neither day seems to be a washout at this point.

SUMMER PREVIEW FOR NEXT TWO DAYS

Skies are clearing this evening and the sun will greet many of us by Thursday morning. As a ridge of high pressure dominates our weather for the rest of the week, we'll also begin to feel more warmth. Afternoon highs in the low 80s are likely for both Thursday and Friday. The weekend may not be as nice, but it's not going to be all bad. A weak area of low pressure will bring some clouds and spotty showers for Saturday and Sunday. Most of the time it will be dry, but there will be passing showers at times.
Well, Im all packed, gassed, and ready for some fun. Matthew elected to stay home due to his baseball shedule, which has been rained on lately. So he has some rain-outs to play and decided not to hang with his "old man". Back is feeling much better, weather looks promising. Leaving this afternoon after the last wires are adjusted! See you all soon!!!!!!!
EPILOG: The weather was great, albeit a bit warm, until Saturday evening. The ride to Christiansburg on the way home today was almost a replay of 2008, though. The last 15 miles or so were pretty unpleasant, and every leak in my car that appeared to have been sealed decided to let go at once. Even my top seams were dripping on me. I have tried every canvas sealer recommended to me, and they only seam to make it worse. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Probably should have left it alone. Luckily I am getting a new Hartz cloth top from Carey as a permanent solution.
Sunny, warm. low 80's, and absolutely clear as a bell for the cruises, tour and go-karts Thursday and Friday. Cloudy and predicted rain all day Saturday but basically nothing until about 7:00 PM so many jumped in the daily drivers to get to the 7:30 dinner with some additional rain overnight. Cloudy and rain predicted again Sunday but nothing before 3:30 PM, we did hit some patchy sprinkles on our 2.5 hour drive south. Other than the threat of rain and the shower Saturday evening the weather was in our favor,
We drove out of the rain not long after we left Lane and Leon at the I-81 / I -77 split. After a while, it was CAVU all the way. We were back in Lenoir City and had lunch at the same restaurant where it all started with Jack Crosby last Tuesday night. I have not done my gas mileage computations yet, but the first leg was 37.67 mpg. The Red Man ran fine all the way. All in all, one tremendous, fun time for Sarah and I.
I put my top on for about half the drive. No serious rain, just about 10 minutes then clear, then another ten minutes of sprinkles.

Halfway home, I couldn't take the noise anymore, so I took the top off. For some reason, the intake/exhaust REALLY resonates in the interior of a Spyder. It was just tolerable with earplugs in. I only got a couple of drops here and there, then the sun came out when we hit New York State.

The weather @ Carlisle was superb this year, Thursday and Friday awesome, Saturday overcast all day but dry 'til dinner. Sunday overcast but no rain until on the way home.

I had the best Carlisle yet, thanks to Bruce, Bill, Alan, and Cory. Special thanks to WB for Thursday night "cruise" on the twisties. Oh, that poor Eclipse driver and his little fart-can muffler.......
