Do Not make your reservations through their web site unless you have a desire to pay $186.50 per night.

Note: to avoid confusion, if you do check the on line rate it will show as their standard weekend rate of $139.00. However, the public "show weekend event" on line rate is the $186.50

I am sure that you will be more than pleased with this hotel choice. ~ Alan

Leon - Absolutely!! I certainly hope we can keep the tradition alive. Christiansburg again?

Alan - The more, the merrier!! Usually we meet up with a Baltimore/DC contingent at a Shoney's in Haggerstown (sp?), Maryland, right near the state line. It's a reasonably short, pleasant drive up to Carlisle from there. If that's too far, we can meet up with you somewhere along the way.

WEST COASTERS: Are we gonna be honored with anyone representing the West Coast Contingent again this year? Vince? Gerd? Angela?
Lane, If it is a sunny day, I'll meet up with you further south.

"Will Mr.Pineapple & Dusty will make the return trips to Carlisle?"

Vince, Angela & Steve and Gerd and the other left coasters it's the year to make the it to Carlisle to share in breaking break....
aka egg samiches and witness that I own a same speedster for more than just a few months. ~Alan
Alan - I had such a great time last year (weather didn't bother me at all - great company more than made up for it all!!). I have Carlisle 2009 in my sights! I realize it may be a little belated but I'll know more in a couple of months (business issues). If it all works out, I'll be posting/soliciting for right-seat/hotel-roommate arrangements (don't believe Kelly's stories about my sleep-walking or eye-watering flatulence) ! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Roger, copy. Get those reservations rolling. I will plan to be there and am unsure of company coming along with, or not. MUSB: you and your super-duty snoring machine, will be welcome again, if it comes to that. And Vince and Steve and angela too? Zounds!, that will be something. Pls bring SoCal sunshine w/ you this time. And I WILL be traveling w/ a waterproof whole-car cover, not a Gordo special. No more water-locked cylinders for me, thanks.

And so what about format? We had some conversations going earlier about extra curricualr activities, and I am not sure where that landed, if it did. Wine tours, special sight-seeing spots, or whatever. As a group; do your own thing options, or just what? Where are we w/ all of that?
Simple: They got a better offer from a larger group of graduation folks, first.

We're workin' on it.

Part of our problem is the size of our group (we sat 81 last year) and another part is our request for a room to ourselves.

Would have loved to go to the Inn Dusty found (where we lunched on the way back from the Harley tour) but they can't handle a group larger than about 60.

I'm working several leads, including working with the Carlisle events people to help us out.

Thanks Gordo, and Alan, and Bill. Let's get the creative juices flowing again, and conjure up some other things to do. Earlier, there seemed to be a feeling that overlapping events, so as to offer a choice, would be OK, and also maybe at least one thing that would feature driving the cars -- beyond the way-cool evening tours to dinner. PS: The Harley tour last year was supposed be that -- and we all know what happened to that great idea. These are fair weather vehicles, after all. Has the group ever done the obvious tour of the Hershey factory? N.B.: I understand that said tour is not of the factory, per se, but a special-built tour of something like the factory. As you mention, we'll go off-line and kick this around some.
Reservations done. Kelly, Gordon, Alan, Bruce, Wild Bill(where is he?), Lane, Hoss, Leon, and the list goes on: keep me in the loop for planning etc.

Alan Gallo, get in touch if you are going to arrive Thursday. LennyC from CT and I are going then, and may coincide with Gordon and Chris from Mass.

If luck is on my side, Jen will be in attendance this year, at least that is the plan as of today.
Suggestions for Carlisle '09 goodies???

OK, all Y'all can decide what we do for mementos:

So far we have (each with appropriate logo, of course):

Hats

Tee-Shirts

Bill Bellichik-style Carlisle Monk-Hoodies

Polo Shirts

I think that for this year, if we go with something size-specific I'll ask for orders beforehand to get the size-vs-count right. I've still got a LOT of sm-med tee shirts left over from 2007.......

We could also do mugs or glasses, sweaters, Nor'Ester rain coats (pretty appropriate, I thought) or whatever you like. Just remember that we'll be a relatively small run of anything , so the costs might be high, but let me know what you would like, get a consensus and we'll go with it.

Don't know if Mike Cochrane has time to do more of his artwork (he's kinda busy these days) but I would certainly welcome it - he does GREAT stuff!.

Leon, I have no logic, just operate on gut instinct!

Lenny is going to borrow the bar to copy it, and hopefully make it a little lighter, mine is way overbuilt. And remember, I have gone to Carlisle(235 miles each way) twice with it, so about 1000 miles on the combo to date....
