This weekend is the last of nine Carlisle car show events for the season....For those that were at Speedsters at Carlisle, I thought that I would share the following,

Fall Carlisle '04 is a five day event.

At 6:15 this morning, there was a four mile traffic back up from the Fairgrounds past the Ramada Inn (our hotel)and west of Rt 81
The Pa. Tpk. exits for Carlisle that connects to Rt 11 was also backed up for a mile plus with police " overseeing " and causing massive confusion with merging traffic.
Every single hotel in and around Carlisle was packed solid with tow vehicles and trailers parked any way they could on the hotels grounds.

I wonder if we will have the same effect at Carlisle '05!
The Fall Collector Car Show is over there this week-end. Sorta like the fall AACA show swap meet at Hershey, which starts next week, but on a smaller scale if you can call it that. Carlisle show is big but Hershey is HUGE. You can check it out on Carlisle's website.
Looks like rain so I'm not gonna make it today..maybe tomorrow.

"Fall Carlisle" is a everything auto related show i.e. performance, antiques, foreign, etc. all rolled into one event. Remember all the empty areas toward the racetrack and up on the hills where we ran the speedster up through ? There isn't a empty space to be had in the entire fairgrounds and getting around in the flea market areas is packed shoulder to shoulder. It's a great place to find good deals at the seasons end as many vendors are trying to dump what they have.

Bill... may catch up at Carlisle with you on Sunday
I received the following email today from Carlisle Events. If you attended in May you may receive this email, if not, here's your chance to be heard:

CARLISLE WANTS YOUR OPINION

Important Attendee Research Conducted this Fall

This fall we will be hiring a research company to conduct extensive research of our attendees, and a few of you may be surveyed. We would hope that everyone who is asked would decide to participate. Because of the nature of the research, we will be unable to include everyone in the survey, so it is very important that those who are included do participate.

Why should I participate?
Simply, your responses will reflect the thoughts of the wider population. Without your survey results we will be unable to establish the cross section of attendees necessary to create a valid study.

Why is this important?
This type of research will allow us to respond to the feelings of our show attendees and make changes or improvements that will make our shows even better. The survey results will help us to provide vendors that attendees are looking for and attract the sponsors that will help keep our events affordable.

How will this information be used?
In keeping with our strict privacy policy, we do not rent, sell or otherwise distribute the private information of our attendees to any third-party entity. The information that we receive from these surveys will be used solely to improve the events that we bring to our attendees, as well as give us insight into what our attendees would like to see in the future.

Thanks in advance for your participation.

Sincerely,

Chris Edwards
Marketing Manager

Carlisle Events
So, what's happening? It's a miserable, rainy day here. Leaves are falling; the darkness is descending earlier each evening; and all I have to drive is a Miata. It looks like a good time was had in Maryland this weekend!

I have such great memories of Carlisle 2004, and am really looking forward to 2005. Good company, egg sandwiches, beer, and great cruising. Who could ask for more?
