Imagine my surprise today, when I received a copy of Nicholas Czerny-Holownia's "Speedsters Meet Spyders at Carlisle 2007" Photo-book. He had mentioned at Carlisle that he was thinking of producing a memento book, but I had no idea that it would be this high quality!!!

Tastefully hard-bound (mine is a dark, Teal-covered fabric with a great cover shot of Cory and his Hoopty), with 36 really great, 8 X 10, HI-Def photos that he took while at Carlisle with the rest of us. Many are cameos of drivers with their cars, while others are nicely done photos of the ladies basking at "Speedster Beach" near the tent, some truly interesting "character shots" of the folks who attended (Terrific shot of Henry Reisner driving the "Hoopty", and one of the best cameos I've ever seen of Cory and the Hoopty - The Man and his Machine) and a few photos of the Saturday evening Dinner crowd.

I've been toying with the idea of producing a poster for 2007 similar to the 2006 ones I contributed to the raffle (who got those posters, by the way??), but Posters usually get relegated to the garage, somewhere near the car itself, and are seldom seen by house guests, even if they're well done.

THIS book, on the other hand, would look perfect sitting on your living room coffee table, just waiting for some guest to open it, start browsing, and THEN you would have the perfect opportunity to say "Oh! You're looking at my book about the Carlisle Car Show.....let me tell you about our great weekend there last May!!" and there you go...

Nicholas is not in the business of producing these books, but he's come up with a nifty way of doing a few of them in a very high-quality manner. I also understand that they can be tailored a bit to make them more personal to those people buying them, but that's up to you folks and Nicholas if you choose to purchase one.
