Two weeks ago tomorrow I suffered a stroke. Some of you all know this already. I was cleared by my doctor but something is not settling with me. I don't feel safe taking my life in my own hands on this trip let alone someone else.

Dave - Sorry to hear that, I was following your excitement about attending this year. Take care of yourself and start planning for next year! None of us are getting any younger - I retired and moved to FL to reduce stress. Quick recovery.
Dave and I have video chatted, we're both good with the decision, naturally, but both disappointed we can't do this grand adventure. But, I'll still be coming one way or another.
Dave M We haven't met but I'm sorry to learn of your illness. I hope you have a complete recovery and soon. Don't worry about our epic trip-your health comes first. Rich D: I'll be glad to have you in the right seat from Indy east to Carlisle.

Hope everyone takes their baby aspirin every day. If you have a sensitive stomach you can buy enterically coated baby aspirin. Prevents heart attacks, strokes and some cancers. Best medical bang for the buck, period.
A bummer indeed, Dave. Very sorry to hear the news and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
For those that don't know Dave, he's been recognized for a long time as a Speedster guru with a very respectable 6 cyl engined Speedster. A very generous guy too and without him we couldn't have pulled off our mega trip across the US back in 2011. He received our speedster from the shipper, ferried us back and forth from the airport and hotel and gave us a real nice send off the next day.
We'll hoist a few for you at Carlisle, Dave. Stay well, Amigo....
