Rum filled Easter Eggs..... Sounds good to me....
Nothing wrong with that.........
Rum filled Easter Eggs..... Sounds good to me....
Now that would get me a whole lot more involved in the Easter egg hunt...
THE SATURDAY EVENING RAFFLE
For the new folks in the group, we don’t charge a registration fee for the Speedsters Meet Spyders gathering but every year we hold a raffle of items donated by the attendees as a fund raiser to cover the miscellaneous weekend expenses.
This year we'll again hold the raffle after the awards dinner. The raffle will be held in the Courtyards by Marriott hospitality suite at approximately 9:30 PM or as soon as we can return from the awards dinner. Please consider bringing a donation for the raffle in the form of new parts, memorabilia, books, car care products, related items, etc. Tickets will be sold in the hospitality suite just before the start of the raffle. It's always a fun time and great things to win so plan to join us and please don't forget your donated item.
Note: Hold onto your raffle item(s) until Saturday evening, then bring them to the hospitality suite.
FRIDAY EVENING DINING
It's getting harder and harder to find a restaurant that will allow 70-110 replica maniacs to stop by for dinner without an advance headcount, advance payment, a contract and seperate checks. So this year we're doing something different and calling it "Dinner Free for All”. Friday around 5:30 PM we'll meet in the Marriott parking lot and hand out a list of local restaurants. Using that list - or your personal favorite - we ask that you break up into smaller groups and head out to the eatery of your chosing. To get you started, Alan and Connie Merklin offered four restaurants earlier in this thread. Here they are again:
In Wormleysburg, PA:
Dockside Willie’s 449 S Front Street…Casual dining www.docksidewillies.com

Want even more options? Just do the following search:
Restaurants near 4921 gettysburg road mechnicsburg, PA
Remember - The larger your group, the more likely you will have to wait for a table so try to head out in smaller groups.
Did Hoss's steak house in 2005. The best thing about the restaurant was the name. Maybe it's better now.
I think we can find a better place, John. Bonefish Grill is usually good, but a bit pricy. The appalachian Brewing Company sounds interesting.
Microbreweries with restaurants are always a treat. I have a little house in Charlottesville VA and Blue Mountain Brewery is awesome. Appalachian Brewing Co sounds Sweet. Love me a good IPA.
Bonefish is excellent but pedestrian. I would go for a microbrew myself. You driving Lane? OK, your car or mine?
We'll figure that out on Friday, John. We may have to flip a coin on who's driving.
NAMETAGS
A nametag will be printed and ready for everyone who has RSVPd so look for me and the nametag box when you arrive. NOTE: Your nametag will have an indication if you paid for the Saturday Awards dinner so don't forget to wear it to dinner - along with your prized Hawaiian shirt - or go hungry.
Great! Thanks, Bruce.
Thanks, Bruce!
In the next couple of days I'll send out to everyone who RSVP'd a copy of the weekend schedule and a few reminders. Stay tuned.

For the new folks in the group, I was just asked a question and thought this was worth passing along to you...
There are no tickets for the Friday afternoon Museum tour or the Saturday Awards dinner. If you paid then you are all set. The museum wanted only one transaction for the whole group and your nametag will have an indication you paid for the Saturday Awards dinner.
If any more questions, just let me know. Two more days!
Hey Bruce, it looks like I'll be able to ride up for Saturday. I'll need to head straight back Saturday evening, but one day of cars is better than no days of cars...
OK Chris, I have a nametag for you (and the wife if she's coming).
Damn, Bruce. I'm a long-time insomniac. What are you doing up?!?!
Looks like it'll just be me this year.
I was a little behind creating cruise directions for the weekend. :>
Bruce, ditto Chris. I'm driving up in the morning and back to VA after dinner, and would sure like to synch up with the bunch. Don't really care if you make me up a name tag . . . I usually try not to forget my own name . . . just want to know where to find the maniacs.
Just saw on the Weather Channel that Carlisle got over 5" of rain overnight.
Holy Floaties, Batman!
That's a lot of rain. Reminds me of the good old days of 2005-2006-2007-2009...
But today was spectacular! Not too cold, not too hot, passing clouds. I'll take more of that.
Can't believe that Carlisle 2014 is history already. After all the anticipation and torrential downpour on Friday, Saturday was great. So good to see everyone and make some new friends ! The banquet last night was once again a success (Thanks Bruce and Norma). Safe journey home to everyone today. Already looking forward to next year ! Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next (July ).
Chuck
The rain was confined to Thursday night and the very first part of Friday. It was nice later in the day and Saturday was very nice. The road to the hotels did get flooded, though, and we had to drive through a neighboring dairy to get out.
Well, THAT's certainly different!
Where are all the pictures from Carlisle this year?? I was bummed I couldn't make it, but was hoping to see some good pics.

Stuart, there are quite a few pictures popping up over on the sister ship (Facebook page).

And thanks Rich, now I know what Carl (we seem to pm a fair bit...not that there's anything wrong with that!) looks like!
