I don't think anybody has really suggested that we just close up shop.  I'll take the sponsor's word for it that they will keep things civil, and that we will all be able to hear each other talk under our (free!!) tent.  One week later is no biggie, I think.  Actually frees up a potential conflict for me.  Maybe better weather??  as Lane says: "One can hope."  and I'm guessing the egg sammies will be the same as always.

"and I'm guessing the egg sammies will be the same as always."

Would someone please tell me what is in these Egg Sammies of which you all speak?  I've been making/eating egg sandwiches since I was old enough to fry eggs myself, which I'm guessing was about 6 years old. I'm just wondering if it is what I've been making myself for well over 40 something years and I missed a marketing opportunity.

Gee....I dunno.

Do you flap three or four whole eggs onto a hamburger bun, then a couple of layers of cheese and then a layer of sausage (or bacon) and another layer of cheese then top it off with the bun?

Of, for non-egg-eaters like me, just a bun with a slice of ham, a slice of sausage and a layer of bacon with cheese on top?

Is yours made by the kids of the Carlisle, PA, High School Marching Band to benefit their costs to visit opposing schools?

THAT's what brings us back each year.

I would like to clear up misconceptions regarding Performance Owners being over zealous.... we have been assured that there is a zero tolerance in place.

Carlisle Productions has scheduled drifting and burnout contests and have scheduled those events .....for late in the day and early evening ( there are no audio contests) so as to maintain normal noise levels during the regular show hours.   Personally I am more than satisfied with Carlisle's plans to maintain civility. Let's enjoy Carlisle 2016 !

Bam.

Just curious...what technically is "American cheese"  ?   At Carlisle a few years back a bunch of us ordered breakfast at some diner and they had an option of Canadian Bacon. Everyone was curious so they ordered some and asked me what it was. Fried Ham...

Vinnie,

I really don't know what else to do.  I've asked, I've begged, I've been nice. You still post pictures that will get our advertising bounced.  Last year we lost advertising for 3 months because of the pictures posted.  I paid out of pocket to keep the site going during those months.  So this is really it, if I have to edit or delete another one of your posts, you have given me no choice but to permanently ban your account.

I really can't figure out why after all of these years you want to tear this site apart and destroy what you once enjoyed.

And one more time...say it with me folks...a huge thank you to Al and Bruce for all your hard work!

Even with some trepidation over the atmosphere on the show field, I'm looking forward to Carlisle 2016 because of the SOC people! And for the roads around Cumberland County!

Re: American Cheese...

It never ceases to amaze me what our elected officials get involved in. But by law (yes, it's a law!), "American Cheese" has to be a blend of at least two cheeses.

Even better than that, because the manufacturing process differs from traditional cheese making, in the US it cannot be called "cheese"!

Turning once again to our fine elected officials, federal law and many state laws requre the product to be called "processed cheese" or "cheese food." Hence you can find products like "Kraft Singles" but you will never find "Kraft American Cheese"

Just so 'ya know:

The product’s full name is Kraft Pasteurized Processed Cheese Product. It cannot be called cheese because less than 51% of it is actually cheese. The rest is composed of other ingredients.

MILK, WHEY, MILK PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, MILKFAT, CONTAINS LESS THAN 2% OF CALCIUM PHOSPHATE, SALT, SODIUM CITRATE, WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE, SODIUM PHOSPHATE, SORBIC ACID AS A PRESERVATIVE, CHEESE CULTURE, ENZYMES, ANNATTO AND PAPRIKA EXTRACT (COLOR), VITAMIN D3.

I can't say American cheese is a gourmet cheese, but it's good for egg sammiches...isn't it just processed cheddar?

I'm still trying to perfect a recipe for peameal bacon. It involves mustard, rum and REAL Canuck maple syrup all cooked in the oven and served on buns etc.

Vince, I'm sure you can play with words.  I love to see your (not your) crotch shots and I enjoyed meeting you in 2012. I was wearing the t shirt that said "bong hits for geezers". You said " I don't know who this guy is, but I like him". We had a shot of very good scotch...or was that very good bourbon. We're still here. Don't bail out dude. We need all the  A holes we can get and you are the biggest.

So what about my question regarding  the Members Only corner, where freedom of speech, or posting if you will, is more liberally interpreted?  What happened to that?  And, while I fully understand Theron's need for mild, inoffensive content, I will say that personally I am not especially offended by Vinnie's pictures or opinions.  I find both informative and entertaining.   If there is a spot here where advertisers do not look, or go, then we can pick all this fine conversation up and carry fwd there.

And while I am at it, this just came in today.  I have no Snopes on this, but will take it at face value.

Congratulations, job well done, but you must tone down your obvious dislike of the Japanese when discussing the terms of the surrender with the press,
because some of your remarks are fundamentally not politically correct!

Political Correctness is a doctrine, recently fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and promoted by a sick mainstream media, which holds forth the
proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of **** by the clean end!

I was under the impression the "Anything Goes" section is for members only and free from censorship from Google.

Personally, I have been posting more things in the "Anything Goes" section, regardless of the actual topic, based on the fact that I don't want to be censored by Google either.  If everyone on this site were a supporting member Theron probably wouldn't need Google Ads to keep the site going and we could say whatever we wanted.

This is what Theron wrote last year:

"Wow, I don't know why I never thought of that. I mean seriously.  I just feel stupid.  It was even easy to do.

So, Rusty brought up a great point. I just made the Anything Goes category for members only!  Now google can't index those pages because there is no login for a bot.

Ok, it really is Anything Goes!!!"

So if Vinny became a Supporting Member and just posted in this section it'd be all good.

I believe that even if you post on General topics/anything goes, it still shows up on "Newest general topics"

So if this is true, how could Vince post something like his famous and endearing "salami Va9ina" picture in "Anything goes" and have it not appear on "Newest General Topics" for all (including google) to see?

Everything that has been discussed in this thread is already happening!

SOC members do gather locally, from organized events like the Tour D'Hoe to the Pumpkin Run to just a few local guys and gals getting together to go for a drive.

And we also continue to support the Carlisle show, Carlisle Productions, and the manufacturers that supply our hobby and exhibit at Carlisle.

G.R. wrote the SoCal group has the right idea for a fun event, drive, go on cruises, meet new and old friends, enjoy good food and libations, see other makes of Speedsters for a few days. Well...that's exactly what our event at Carlisle is! There just happens to be a show field with hundreds of other imports and kits there too.

There's no conflict here.

And there's definitely nothing wrong with fifty Speedsters/Spyders/Roadsters showing up in Carlisle! The numbers alone indicate we're doing something right!
