Excellent news, Alan and thanks to all  those making this thing happen. We maybe approaching from the West end this time, looking at Bryce Canyon.

Sounds Great when they post the dates I’ll see if we can make it! Looks like it’s only about 400 miles away from here.

Carlisle dates are May 14 through the 18th.

Thanks for confirming the dates for Carlisle in 2020, Alan.  Gonna be a tough assignment to match the great time we had for Carlisle 2019 but I have no doubt that it will be sensational.

 Carlisle has been a major highlight of my year for 13 years now.  After  thirteen 2,500 mile round trips from Hot Springs for 2020, Alice and I will fly to Harrisburg and rent a car to participate next year.  I have always said that it's really about the great folks we visit with there annually and that part will continue for 2020.  The iron butt has worn plumb out after over 56,000 miles in the Speedster, and at age 81 at the 2020 Carlisle event who can blame me?  Can't wait to see everyone there!

We look forward to seeing the "Old Guard" a well as the new faces …. Jack you'll have room for the banjo !

I plan on driving up to Carlisle from Atlanta this year, as soon as I can find out the registrars address, and was wondering if I could connect with anyone driving north.  Mini-caravan...?

@Meade - Several of us usually meet up in Christiansburg, VA on the way north.  I'm coming from the SC coast but Ron and Maddie Mullis come from Elijay, GA, in the mountains north of you.  I'm sure something can be put together.

Alan - Is the hotel block ready for us to make reservations yet?

Lane, I will try to find a link to the Mullis family. Keep me in mind if you know them.  I'm calling the motel today and get a room for myself; I cannot/never will be able to get my wife to go with me.

Meade, there is usually a discount for the block of rooms that Alan reserves.  Also, lots of wives go to Carlisle that have minimal interest in cars.  It's more about like minded people gathering to hang out and chat.  It's a very diverse group and a great chance to meet new friends. jus' sayin'

As Al said, it's a great time for us, and for those right seaters who come along

Yes, Lane helps a lot. He gives us many funny photo ops, and endless entertainment involving beer.

Just registered, and this year we are arriving on the Wednesday.  

We're booked....Wednesday arrival too and need to get down to Montezuma's in Chambersburg for sure this time. 

Montezuma's in Chambersburg  is good Mexican food !

I have tried multiple times to call the number Alan posted above and keep getting voice mail for someone called Bill Walsh.  Is that really the number to reach Charity?

I got that too, Michael but left voice mail of my intentions and next time I checked my email I found I was automatically booked for those three nights on the cc I used last year. Decent automation for sure but when I checked the reservation confirmation there is a feature where I was able to modify it to include the Wednesday night also but at a much higher rate so I declined and will call and confirm next week to see if the SOC rate will indeed be applicable to Wednesday night too.  I had a  phone call with Walsh he was also not able to confirm a ground floor room for us. 

I didn't leave a message for Walsh because we were told to speak to Charity. 

I called, got Bill Walsh's voice mail.  The second time, same thing, but I left my name and number, and Charity called me back. 

I'm in from Wednesday, at the SOC rate.

Courtyard by Marriott reservation :  The correct phone number is 717 300 7026  ask for Charity Shreffler.

On Thursday night we will have the BBQ buffet as we did last year, the cost will automatically added to your Thursday night room folio there is nothing for you to do.

Relax.  Have some refreshing adult beverages.  Watch everyone else arrive.  Feel superior because you have an extra day of Carlisle.

I hear we're going to watch Alan Merklin try to grab a greased pig Wednesday night. Then we're gonna have a square dance, called by Lane Anderson "Annoying Radio Guy". Maybe a card trick or three from Ed Ericcson. Jack and Maddie are going to do the dueling banjo routine.

Max is going to do a live reading of all three books, Cory/Jeni are going to disassemble then re-assemble their entire car. Chris is going to vape his face off. Karen will sip something good. Chuck will consume an entire bottle of whiskey and repeat himself. The Stroud's will discuss their latest touring/trailering adventures. Frazoo is going to shoot off rockets. Mossberg is gonna talk about the latest 718 Boxster automatic accessories. The Finch will share the latest on goat-raising in America. Hoss will most definitely wear his big hat.

Stan and Al will give a rousing discussion on gear and compression ratios, and their effect on significant others and relationships.

@Rich Drewek Normaly Rich does and he makes t-shirts and polo shirts , long and short sleeves and hoodies for the Chicago boys.

And Mr. Piperato, who also has some rather uniquely interesting (and some say downright disturbing) opinions on these subjects, will be in there as deep and yelling as loud as the rest of us!   It will be an event not to be missed...

Was there any discussion about having something catered at the hotel on Saturday night?  More time for raffle etc.  (the etc. is the best part)

......looking at possibly having the hotel cater the Saturday dinner, it's reasonable compared to doing a dinner where renting a room and paying service staff increases the overall cost per person.  Stay tuned~

Al.  No problem for long drives.  The past few years we have headed to the Outer Banks after Carlisle, then a two day drive back home.  Lots of nice country roads there and back...

The hills around the car museum were pretty awesome last year and the weather was awesome...

It seems like there might be others expecting to see this in the events section.  I think I suggested early in the thread that it be moved there.  That still seems like a good idea @Theron

It's basically English, with an influence of Scottish, Irish, and French, and a touch of American.  At least, in most of the country.  

In Quebec, and other regions, it's French, with an influence of Scottish, Irish, and English, and a touch of American.

In Québec some are from Irish descent but they only speak French.
