Yup:

Jim Youngs and his entourage from Kit Car Builder
(BTW: There was a full page ad for the Carlisle kit Car Show in KKB last issue)

The editor from Kit Car Magazine (used to be Erik, but not sure who replied to me this time - still looking for the email)

The Kit Car desk (three people) from Hemming's Motor News (I think they're bringing the "official" Hemming's Panel Truck)

Two guys from Custom Car Magazine (more for the Cobras and others I think)

The field reporter from the Carlisle High School Newspaper (just kidding)

The East Coast Editor of "Six Guns and Cowboy Saddles" (OK, still kidding, but thought Dusty would get a kick!)

That's all I've heard from so far.

If you know of others who will or should be there, please give me contact info or contact them yourselves if you know them.

Thanks, gn
Gordon,
How about Hot VW's.
You could encourge them by telling them that this may be the start of the last generation of VW based Buggies, and Kit Cars as more and more builders are using Other than VW based chassis and drive trains in their traditionally VW based vehicles.
This may be a good opportunity to take a look at what's being used and what's here and how many are still VW based.

Also; the Speedsters in attendance won't be the only VW based vehicles there.

Well, the truth is......

I explained to their editor, Bruce Simurda, that we typically get 40 - 60 of the best, VW-based Speedsters in the country at this show every year, we're ALWAYS the largest Kit-based group at the show BY FAR and wasn't it about time that Hot VW's covered this event?

I was told that "We only have three people who go out and do these field stories and we've had them scheduled ahead for six months and they won't be able to make the 'Carlisle Kit Car Show' in 2008"

After we talked a while and I told him that Hemming's, Kit Car and Kit Car Builder were all covering this event and about what we've done in the past; Great cruise nights, Lots of cars and people at this event, Terrific weather (OK, so I was stretching a bit there), building a complete VW-based beck Speedster in two days at the show, etc., he began to get pretty interested, so I offered to provide copy AND pictures of the 2008 event for publishing in an upcoming issue and he accepted the offer.

So there you have it. Yours truly will be the Hot VW's field reporter for the Carlisle show this year.

Smile! FLASH!

Gordon
(as if I didn't have enough to do at) "Speedsters Meet Spyders at Carlisle, 2008"
Even better than that, my buddies at Hemmings Motor News Online have just published this notice about Carlisle:
