I posted a link on the Carlisle '09 survey thread to the 1999 Carlisle show, receiving a couple positive responses.

If you didn't already try to wander backwards through Curt Scott's Kitcar.com website...here are more links.

So pop a top on your favorite beverage and take a little walk through Carlisle Import/Kit Car Nationals history at these sites:

1997

1998
http://www.kitcar.com/articles-kitcar/carlisle98-kitcar/home.html

1999 (I did the photography for Curt this year and some of the writing. I actually shot film, remember that stuff? It was fun riding the cherry picker into the sky for the overhead shots!)

The final link below has the above links plus a bunch of links to the Knott's Berry Farm and Northern California Kit Car Club shows over the years. One warning, if you click through the Me 'N' Henry link, you will be rewarded with a shirtless photo of Curt in Vietnam in 1969.

I remember going to Carlisle and Hershey parts meets way back in the early 1970's when I was sourcing parts to build my '46 coupe.

Every year they were held in April or early May.

Every year it was bitter cold and rained incessantly.

Every year the mud on the field was unbelievable (nothing was paved back then). We all wore at least knee-height boots - Waders were preferable.

Ah....memories!

Nice to see you each year, Paul. Would have liked to see your "Merc"!
