Your thoughts and comments for both the Court Yard Hotel and Saturday Radisson dinner are appreciated and will help us for next year. ~Alan

The Marriott was terrific. Quiet, nice rooms and very convenient. Nice large parking lot and a great area behind the hotel to wash cars. The Radisson was okay, not sterling, but okay.
Hey Marty......Eat this....
I agree with John and Marty, and I doubt that we'll ever be able to do much better than the Marriott. I think that the pay-in-advance thing at the Radisson worked very well. As the others said, the food was decent, but not spectacular.
I also particularly liked the Stony Creek Diner for dinner on Friday.
Come on guys there is so much more than hotel accommodations and food... you know what I'm talkin' about right?
I think most will agree with all the reasons John E stated, the Court Yard would be hard to beat!
In my perspective, the decent-not-spectacular-food is an acceptable trade-off for the comfortable/spacious room the Radisson it afforded the SOC (as well as its proximity to the Court Yard).

The Mariott was a good hotel for the group. They seemed to go a little extra to get the business. The Stony Creek Diner was very good - nice setting, and good food.
I can't comment on the Banquet, but I usually am okay with whatever food is available.
The Marriott was perfect again this year---has everything a first class hotel should have plus the great parking lot on the side. I'd definitely stick with the Marriott.
What Musbejim said about the radisson X2 for me. That was the best banquet room we have ever had. With the large crowd we had this year there was ample room with no feeling of being crowded. As far as the food, it was ok and maybe more than ok, but no reason we can't pay a couple of $$ more and ask them to step it up a bit if others feel the same about the food this past Carlisle.
2nd year for nametags (I believe) and again, with such a large group the nametags were welcome. Thanks to Norma and Bruce for the extra work to put the tags together. In the future, I would put the person's individual SOC "handle" on the nametag somewhere. (Not critical but might help to I.D. folks).
The extra touch of having the Mariott supply cookies and coffee along with a welcome sign to the SOC folks upon our arrival was sensational.
Already looking forward to Carlisle 2014!! Thanks Bruce, Norma, Allan, Wild Bill, Chuck and all the many others who helped make this a premier event!
Ditto with what Jack said about the nametags with the SOC "handle" on them. Great idea. How about a high school picture too (just kidding).
I do NOT want my high school picture made public, and I suspect that most of you feel the same way
I don't know about you Lane but in my High School picture I had a lot more hair.
I thought the marriott was excellent again this year. I must have slept thru most of the award ceremony speeches....Can,t remember a damn thing....
Thanks for the feedback..... we are now booked for 2014 at $121.00 per night.
Deal!!
Alan
How many days until..............?
Paul
We might consider having a dinner catered, either at the showfield or at the hotel if the group becomes too large.
I thought the Saturday dinner was fine, though.
Hey Vince, Eat this! GO BLACKHAWKS
I've no negative comment the banguet food since my usual fare is microwaving whatever comes out of a can!
The Marriott was A+1....I just wish there was more elbow space in the grab-bag room.
Marty- After a long, grueling night they're up one. And I like your cheering section...Al

The hotel and the banquet were excellent. I liked the food, and though I agree it wasn't a top 10 meal I have to say the logistics were very much an improvement from some previous years when the wait to be served was, for my wife and I, very long. Buffett is definitely the way to go and if there's a little trade off in gormetitude I'm OK with that.
There we are! Some good, wholesome Canadian girls...
