I would like to get feedback on this year's Hotel Carlisle facility as well as Carlisle Cafe and the Sunnyside dinner.

Please email me directly with your responses over the next two weeks and I'll post the results here.

Hotel:

Were you satisfied with the Hotel Carlisle facilities and would you like to see the SOC return there next year ?

Carlisle Cafe:

I'll assume that all were pleased with this choice for Friday night.

Sunnyside:

Past couple of years they have provided excellent fare and prompt service. This year we did experience slower than normal service at some of the tables. It is a convenient location, one that does allow off the menu ordering and individual checks for our large group....your thoughts?

Alan,

Hotel Carlisle: Was better than last year's hotel, much more accomodating, better facilities, nicer rooms. There was a glitch with getting the party room but your patience solved the problem. We thought we were going to be in the main building but having many of us out in the seperate building worked well. The only
disappointment was not having enough time to use the pool! I vote for returning in 2006.

Carlisle Cafe: Food was great and the turnout was outstanding. The only disappointment - not getting gas before the cruise to the Cafe.

Sunnyside: The parking and the wait remains a problem, slower service this year didn't help. Convenience might be the cause since everyone else is gong there too. We had a very large group and that might be a problem any where we go. Are there any other options?

As with last year, great job on all three counts! We had a great time and look forward to next year.
Hotel Carlisle: I'm with Bruce. Great Place. They set us up in our own wing. It was like we had our own private compound as for parking etc.

Carlisle Cafe: Pretty nice place. Good food. Although with a 15 min cruise straight up Rt. 11 towards Harrisburg there are a few nice places. There's a HQQters up there as well as Margaritaville with a nice open deck. (if it's nice) I don't think we cruise enough during the weekend.

Sunnyside: The locals all say it ain't what it used to be. I think we blow WAY too much precious time here. It was worse than last year. Waiting to park, waiting to be seated, waaaiting for food to be served.
This cut WAY into the Kart time and the Social time after. I pooped out. Again, I think a mini cruise some where would be more fun, be it for Lobster or burgers, don't matter to me. I just get off being in a loooong line of cars going somewhere for a ride! We don't do it enough.

Early returns from both the SOC and the NJRC indicate the following:

Carlisle Cafe' We return as they have good food, reasonable pricing, they were well prepared for our arrival and the service was excellent.

Hotel Carlisle We return once again, management went all out behind the scene to keep us grouped together and to furnish a meeting & wine labeling room that somehow got overlooked at the time the room contract was signed. A bit pricey but any hotel on a Carlisle Show weekend throughout the Spring Summer and Fall are high.
Corvettes at Carlisle Weekend in August commands a whopping $320 per night at the Hotel Carlisle, Ramada LTD etc.

Toni Zimmer the VP NJRC, has looked into the possibility of having our Saturday evening dinner at the hotel in a private room setting. The hotel has a good reputation. This might very well be out best option. When I do receive additional information, I'll be passing it along.

Thanks for the huge response that this informal survey has gotten ! The response indicates another SOC at Carlisle banner year in '06!
Thought the Hotel was really nice, even with the morning hot water glitch.

Carlisle Cafe went out of their way for us in food and service.

I would really like to see us do Bill D's idea of doing a long-ish early evening cruise somewhere out into the counrty side (ESPECIALLY after that terrific ride to the Motorsport museum) ending up at someplace in the country for dinner - a place that could easily handle us all. Alternatively, do the cruise and then end up at a dinner place reasonably close to the hotel.

I'm no longer a big fan of the Sunnyside. Food is good, Service is good, but for two years, now, we've had to wait, this year for a LONG time, for the Citroen and Peugeot folks to finish and leave. They feel pressured, I'm sure, to get out of there and make room for the next bunch, and we end up waiting forever to get in. Parking there sucks, too.

We drive CARS! We want to drive someplace! Let's do a 45 minute drive to another town to arrive for dinner around 6-ish, then leave 8:30-ish and return to the hotel.....

My 2-cents.....gn
I share your thoughts Gordo, but a 45 min ride may not be for everyone.
If we keep it a little longer than brief then all should be happy. Ya gotta remember many people drive a long way to get here and the last thing they want to do is drive for another hour. The drive up Rt.11 to Mechanicsburg is about 15-20 min. depending on the red lights, but there are backroads. We'll have to see how the polls speak. A "museum" like drive for dinner is the ticket. Not to long but just enough. Besides, I want some more kart time. I didn't even get out of the paddock till youse guys were crossing the bridge.
