Hi all,

This year, I have a feeling that we're going to have more people other than Michael McKelvey and I coming from Michigan & Ohio to Carlisle.

If you would like to caravan, I propose we meet at the McDonalds just south of exit 71 on the Ohio Turnpike (where I-280 and SR 420 meet the turnpike) at 7:00 AM on Thursday, May 15th, 2014.

With gas, lunch, and ARV's that should get us there just in time to check in and join the dinner cruise.

Please let me know between now and then if you plan to join us (you can just reply to this thread) so that we know to wait for you.  Also, please send me a dialog with your email address and cell number and I will forward to our fellow caravaners to that we can stay in touch on the ride.

Last year, I saw the value in caravanning when I blew a valve cover gasket seal and started returning my oil to PA from from whence it came.  I was able to limp into a service plaza and limp into Carlisle, but it was close.

Looking forward to caravanning with you!

Hi James,

I have your info already.

The only thing that has been worked out for Carlisle is the hotel.  More info will follow from Bruce, I'm sure.  You can always check the events forum.

Generally, there is a cruise/dinner Thursday evening followed by hanging out in the hotel hospitality room

Friday is a cruise, then the Carlisle show field, and cruise/dinner & hospitality suite

Saturday is show field, raffle, banquet awards dinner, and hospitality suite.

There maybe other things thrown in, but that's the general routine.

You can order your show field pass here. http://store.carlisleevents.co...chResults.asp?Cat=23

You'll be 4 hours ahead of our meet up point.  Depending on what time we depart, when you get up, & relative speeds, that lead could get cut to 2 hours.

We're not following "Top Gear" rules...wave & laugh as you drive by? :-)

After last year's Natalie Exxon Valdez episode, I'm more appreciative of caravanning.

I'm sure we won't need to, but will certainly stop :-)

About 30 years ago I belonged to a motorcycle club in Worcester Ma.  It was made up mostly of older ex motocross or enduro riders with road bikes. I was easily the youngest in the group.

On a weekend ride out to NY State we split into 2 groups of about 15 guys each, some guys wanted to take paved roads and others were looking for dirt roads to get to the same destination.

When we finally got to Jake's farm, the destination, I heard one of the guys say, "where's Bob?"  Another guy says, "oh he went off the road a ways back".

"Is he ok?"  "Yeah, I think so...he was standing up when I went by." Everybody laughed.

That's not the kind of caravan we do.
