The hotel reservations are being made using "Speedster Owners Group",as the reference for the reserved block of rooms. Under what club name are we registering at the Showfield? The Carlisle website gives two options.
1)Speedster Owners
2)Speedster Group
This does make a difference. Based on the number of registrants under the correct name, this will determine our eligibility for a FREE tented area at the showfield.
Has anyone registered yet for the Showfield?

I'll contact Carlisle and see if the duplication can be changed. In the interim, please register under the first one - "Speedster Owners". If anyone has registered under the second heading, let me know and I'll get you fixed.

Of course, this is why it is important to let me know if you are coming so I can keep track and make sure Carlisle gives us credit for all the registrations.

BTW, sorry for the delay in responding.....I was enjoying the sun in the Dominican Republic with a few others on this site. I'm back again so the planning can begin.
Looking to find out more about replicas just visited SAS and am leaning that way
now want to make sure and want to know what options and color I might want to order. What are the best days to be at the meet, is Thursday and Friday ok. Is the Fairfield inn close to the owners hotel? Is there anything I need to sign up for or register for? Thanks David
David,

The Fairfield is about 9 miles away from the main hotel (Hotel Carlisle). The Carlisle show is closed on Thursday but will start on Friday and you will be able to go through the buildings and talk to the manufacturers and see their cars through Sunday, here's more info: http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/

Our group will start arriving at the hotel Thursday afternoon and we'll be hanging out there when we aren't cruising or at the show. You are more than welcome to stop by anytime, everyone will be happy to show and talk about their cars. I hope to have a weekend schedule out soon and you are welcome to join us for the cruises, dinners, etc. Saturday is usually the biggest day at Carlisle but if you are only able to get there Thursday or Friday then Friday is probably the best of the two. Stop by and say hello.
David: Take note.
The reservation dates and rates are:

Thursday May 20th. $77.96
Friday May 21st $113.96
Saturday May 22nd. $113.96

We have a complimentary hospitality room for Friday and Saturday.

The rooms are blocked under the reservation name:
"Speedster Owner's Group.
Our reservation is NOT.... on the Hotel Web Site, please call Hotel Carlisle directly to reserve your room AT 800 692 7315 / 717 243 1717.
Reservation cut off date is April 20th. 2010
Check in 3:00PM Check out 11:00AM

The Carlisle registration site has been fixed, the "Speedster Group" selection has been eliminated, "Speedster Owners" is still there and that is the one everyone should select. This is important because the number of registrations in a club (1) qualifies us for a free tent on the field and (2) enters us in the competition for most club registrations.

Don't forget to register for Carlisle! And you can save $10 if you register by May 2: http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/
Yeah.....just to explain a little more:

If you get a gate ticket for $8/day, you end up parking in Istanbul or something and then have to walk about a mile from inside gates 1 or 2, all the way across the show field to where we all park (about a mile).

If you register whatever car you're driving at gate 3, (I usually register my F250 pickup and trailer, for example), it costs an extra $4 for the weekend, PLUS you drive in and park about 150 feet away from the Speedster/Spyder area.

Way worth it..... IMHO...

Lots of other people do it, too.

Last year, there were something like 450 kit cars there (about 50 speedster/spyders) and another 2,500 imports.

"It's a really big shoe"!
