Greetings Guys.....and Gals. This is mainly directed at Carlisle veterans. Been evesdropping here for quite some time,(about 2 years)Can't take it anymore. I am in San Diego and have visited two of the local manufacturers many times, Kirk at Vintage and Tom at Thunder Ranch.Havent made it to JPS. Can't quite swing a new ride and have been keeping an eye one-bay and your site. Last time I was at Carlisle it was in 1993 at Corvettes at Carlisle. Many Vettes for sale. Can anyone tell me if it would be worthwhile to check out Carlisle for a 356 this spring? Thanks ....John

John:

Last year we had over 50 cars at Carlisle, both Speedsters and Spyders. We even had one company which produces a high-bucks 550 "clone" which is very true to the original, and there are ALWAYS 50 or more kit car suppliers of all kinds there.

This year, we hope to have at least as many cars attend (we're actually a little ahead of expectations for attendees for this time of year), and we'll have manufacturer's reps from the following companies there:

Intermeccanica - Henry Reisner
Special Edition - The Beck folks
Thunder Ranch - Tom McBurnie
SAW - The Subaru Speedster folks
JPS - John Steele

In addition, there should be quite a few Vintage Speedsters and Spyders in attendance, although we have not heard if there will be any VS reps there.

A group of volunteers will be building a brand new Beck Speedster, right at the show, in 24 hours or less - an event that shouldn't be missed!

Typically, each year we have several cars for sale at Carlisle. Although Carlisle Productions does not allow "For Sale" signs on the show field, if you stop at the "Speedsters Meet Spyders" tent we should have a list of which cars are for sale and seller contact info for you.

Carlisle is easy to get to via the Harrisburg, PA, or Philadelphia airports, and hotel rooms are still available, but you should decide quickly, as they are going fast.

You can see far more event information, with registration and hotel info under "Anything Goes" at this web site, or here:

Hope to see you at Carlisle!
