My schedule opened late yesterday so I got to zip up to Carlisle for a few hours.
What a great turn out!!!!
I pulled up and the first car I saw was my old speedster (Rich, the new owner standing by it). It made me miss it worse than I have since I sold it. Rich has done it right with a few personal touches that I probably would have done myself if I held on to it.
Weather was awesome!,,,,
Great to see some old friends, brief as it was. (Cory, Gordon, Lane, Will Bill, Greg Bills, EC Bruce, Dale, and the rest of the crew.
Soooo happy to see Jimbo and Ginny, and Marty G (I missed Sandy :( and finally got to meet the infamous Vince and his lovely wife Terri. Troy, I know you were ther but I missed ya, next time around for sure.
Carey Hines (love that guy) had the 904 there with a 3.6 in it, it was incredible looking! And Marty and Sandys new IM is frickin gorgeous!!!
JPS had a really awesome blue coupe that was a little outlaw-ish.
I don't know, maybe it's that I've been away from them so long but the cars seem tone getting better and better made and better looking.
Ya know things are F'd up when you have a 996 and all you can do is drool over all of the speedster and spyders : -)

I do miss the cookies. :)

I was thinking about you and Steve looking at Careys 904 with a 3.6 in it. That thing is SICK!!!! I can only imagine what it's like, I have that in my C4S and it gets me in enough trouble, in a 1700lb car, uhhhhhh, bad things man, bad things ;)

I'm back to kicking around the late 60's early 70's 912 with a Jake or Pat engine in it.
There is just something about the oldies I can't be away from.

I'd set out to "simplify". I have 2 motorcycles, 2 cars and my kart. The kart is in my Dads garage until I make up my mind of racing that or vintage bikes, probably the kart. Soooo, one of the bikes and both the SC and my Scion went and I packed it all into my 996 thinking I'd get the best of both worlds. As nice of a car it is to drive, I still need that air-cooled thing under my butt :)
Mickey:

I'll be what's known as an "enabler".

Absolutely keep the 996. Use it as your "daily". Keep either the bikes or the karts-- not both, not one of each. I'd keep whatever takes less time/money/space to race

... then I'd buy Scott Sloan's 2003 IM stone gray speedster (the most righteous speedster I ever saw). It's for sale on the Intermeccanica website:

http://www.intermeccanica.com/2003_speedster_Sloan.html

You'll never look back...
Mickey, it was good to see you -- I wish I had realized you were only going to be there for all of a minute, though!

I'm in the camp that says you may be just a tad on the old side for bike racing, a little tall for the kart-wheelin' and that a Spyder might fit into your garage a little more easily. Plus, youcan get to almost everything from the top, which means Swika (as cool as he is) won't need to take as much of your money this go-'round!

Scott's car is really cool, but I hear-tell there are a couple killer Spyders on the market. ...

Cory, I actually got to talk to Vince more than I did you! (I waited for a while for you to come back around, we must have kept missing each other) You know where to find me :)

Vince, so awesome to finally meet you and Teri!!! I told Jim, one of these days I'll find a reason to get out west again. I LOVE Cali!!! Finding a car in California and drivng it back east has always been one of those things "I gotta do soemday". Tell everyone out there I said Hey!!! ( stay thirsty me friend ;) )
