I'll throw over some old and new news. Do a thread search for German sq. weave carpets here on this Forum and maybe find some remarks about what happens when it gets wet. It's made of wool, so think: wet sheep. JPS says he has gotten some synthetic square weave rug, and believes this works much better wrt the inevitable wet. I have had this synthetic material put in my JPS car, now under construction. Not sure what colors are available here. Tweak John at JPS about all of this.
I put a full JPS interior in my CMC. Had only a few hangups. The door pannels in the CMC are larger than JPS's. So all the screw holes from the previous door pannels will be seen, so fill em. You can see them on mine up towards the from and bottom of the door. The carpet fits with no prob. Went in way easier than I though. Took me about 2 hours to install the carpet. While you have it all out put some soundprofing material behind the carpet. Gets all the echos out. I think thats about it.
My CMC carpet was glued down a couple inches farther out than the Vintage carpet will cover at the front of the door openings. Any idea how I can deal with this? Those areas are coated with nasty yellow glue and red gelcoat. If I had known the Vintage carpet was smaller in that are I would have sanded it and had it painted with the rest of the car.
