Carpet

Hey gang .
I have just enough time before spring to install new carpet.
Has any one come up with a reasonably priced substitute for German Square Weave, either in the tan or the oatmeal color and TEXTURE .
The real stuff is "too much moolah".
Any help is as always greatly appreciated. tw

it's thick, but is synthetic, so if it gets wet - won't smell like wet dog. plus it's cheaper than German square weave wool.

Stratos synthetic carpet from Lowes looks similar to square weave.

You really DO NOT want real wool square weave - when wet it smells like a we dog. And it will get wet!

I will not put anything but wool square weave in my car. Wet dog smell and all. I owned a Retriever for 14 years. He was great at finding puddles to play in. Not once did I think of shaving him down because of the smell. He was too handsome a dog. Point is, there are some things worth putting up with. I like the look and feel of the wool carpet. Not to mention the off gassing from Wool carpet and leather upholstery has got to be much better for you than vinyl and synthetic carpet. If cost is your primary concern, there are cheaper alternatives as mentioned above.

the synthetic vinyl in my car was more money than leather. my jaw dropped when i saw how much it cost (however my mind was made up).

point being - pick something that works for you, not just based on what it made of.

What Micheal,said. #201639 treebark 5023 ,at Lowes is thin and looks good.($.84 per sqft.) When I get the time I will probably use that with the edging stuff that was talked about on this site. Good luck.
