Anyone ever heard of "Race-Weight Coverings" out of Ypsilanti, Michigan?

I was over Todd's place yesterday and we ending up at a buddy's garage looking at/working on his BMW. His old 914 was redone as a GT clone a while ago, with a built six, cage, fiberglass panels and such and it had these great light weight carpets covering the floor, kick panels and most interior surfaces. They were that light weight felt kinda stuff and looked a LOT like the factory 914-6 GT carpets that I've seen in pics and such.

He said that they came from "Race-Weight Coverings", in Michigan.

I can't find any info and he has no contact, but some of the carpets are tagged on the edges and there's an old sticker on the foot well piece with their name.

I'd love a set done up for my coupe, anyone have ANY info/link/phone number/etc. to get in touch with 'em?

Thanks !

Thanks for the tips, guys.

I kinda hoped that they were still in business, I've never been good at carpets. I just thought that they'd be worth a try because their stuff was SO spot on 914-6 GT that I thought it might be neat to carry a little of that GT heritage over and back in time to the 356 Coupe that I'm wrestling with.

If they made GT covering kits and they made MY kit, well, then . . . . you get it.

It's surely worth a check in with Michigan Textile and Fabrics, a very good chance that they at least provided/ might still provide that carpet/covering.

Again, thanks. I had no luck finding them either, but at one point, they REALLY made something fine.
