Just throwing this out for those in So Cal. Thought it would be fun to pick out a Saturday to put together a group starting at Cars & Coffee followed by a cruise up through Carbon Canyon ending at my place for a Tech Day afternoon and BBQ.

I was thinking either Saturday, Oct 13th or Sunday, Oct 14th. For Sunday, we can do an early afteroon cruise thru Carbon Canyon followed by a Tech Day afternoon and BBQ (no Cars & Coffee).

How many people are open and/or interested? We can change the dates if necessary to get a good group together.

Adrian, per our conversation the 13th works best for me too! My youngest has a late soccer game that day so I can make an early run out to Cars & Coffee and then through Carbon canyon.. Yeah I just realized that both events are C&C .. LOL.. Lets plan on getting Gabe up for the run out to Cars too, it would be cool to have 3 or 4 Speedies come in at same time... then we can all head back to Carbon with Jimbo, Robert (Nice color Roberto!) and anyone else that wants to tag along .. should be a sweet time..

I am in.. let's start head count here..

Spoke with Gabe & Desi on the phone today and so far they say they're IN! My buddy John (with the Red Buggy) wants to tag along as well too so it looks like a good turnout so far.

Just so we're all on the same page, let's set this up for --

*** SATURDAY, OCT 13TH ***

Meet at Cars & Coffee around 7am.
We can begin our caravan at around ~8:30am to meet others if necessary at Carbon Canyon by 9am and go from there.

I will keep it simple and BBQ Burgers and Dogs. I'll also pick up a mac/potato salad. Bring yourself a collapsable chair if you've got one (just in case but I'll have a few).

Looking forward to it!

Adrian, here's a shout out for Gabe and Lasy 8 to hook-up with us for the ride down to Irvine Saturday morning.. Lets meet at our reg. spot off 57 and Imperial hwy in parking lot of "Coco's" I think? (South-East corner of State College and Imperial Hwy) .. Adrian you know the name for sure.. Then all four of us (Or anyone else that wants to meet us there) can drive down to the OC for Coffee and Cars, or Cars and Coffee... We'll hook-up with my Brutha Jimbo and Robert there!

P.S. Roberto I am looking forward to seeing that tub of yours ... SWEEEEEET

Speedster "D" out!
Adrian - I don't want to mess up your jones on this cruise, but how about this to consider;

For those who aren't necessarily CRAZY about the idea of getting up at some un-Godly hour on Saturday morning to rendevous somewhere just to make a 7:00-7:30am appearance at Cars & Coffee (BTW - the lot is FULL at 07:00am), how about this alternative;

For those inclined, we can meet at 09:00am at the Target store on the 5Fwy/Alicia exit in Mission Viejo (we've done this before). We can then cruise Trabuco, Modjeska, Silverado Cyns, cross over on Cannon Street into Anaheim Hills and either continue on Imperial Hwy to work our way to Carbon Cyn and to Adrians (should get us to Adrian's around 11:30am), or continue off Cannon to Serrano to Weir Cyn and a short jaunt on the 91 Fwy to Hwy 71 and then to Adrians (this should get us to Adrian's around 11:00am).

Either way would be good for a 1.5-2/hr cruise before firing up the BBQ and wrenching on some Speedsters at Adrian's!

The Cars & Coffee (C&C) meet is just down the hill from me so it's Easy-Peasy for me, but for those coming from some distance to make a really early rendevous before C&C...I'm just saying!

I'm good with whatever the group decides! Looking forward to hanging out with you guys, grinding on some burgers & dogs and sharing some tech-tips!

Peace - Out!

I was hoping you were going to bring your NEW wife... JK... Lets ask Adrian on what he might need for Saturday... I assume we will be meeting in Brea by 6:00 am so we can make it before all cars spots fill up at 7:00.. (Per Jimbo's prior post) I have a new cell if you guys need it too..

562-201-3819 cell

We will be meeting at the South-East corner of State College and Imperial Hwy in Brea, just west of the 57 FWY off Imperial. Adrian what is the name of the resturant at that corner again? I think it's Coco's?
its right next to the gas station on that corner.

See you there Lazy8...

Temp. head count for Brea drive to Irvine C&C @ 6:00 am;

Anyone else is welcomed to join in.. but we have to leave by 6:15 am at the latest...

Jimbo,
I think I like your plan better (so does my buddy John). Here's the route I would suggest:

Meet at 9am at Target on Alicia Pkwy at 5 Fwy exit, Mission Viejo
Cruise thru Trabuco, Modjeska, Silverado to Cannon Street in Anaheim Hills
Continue to off Cannon to Serrano > Wier Canyon
Short jaunt 91 east to 71 north

*** This route will bypass Carbon Canyon altogether ***

Lazy8 -- if you are coming from Grand Terrace you are already near me. We can meet at my place first and cruise into Mission Viejo together via the Toll Road.

What do y'all think???
Dave,
Looks like we posted at the same time! My buddy John (in bug) prefers to meet at Target on Alicia as well because of the more reasonable time (9am).

Regarding what to bring -- that's up to you guys. I will be picking up burgers and dogs and a potato/mac salad. I think someone said they are bringing some sodas. For everyone else, bring whatcha want. I'm sure we'll eat whatever shows up!

Looking forward to Saturday!

Adrian, ok we are ALL-in (As Desi would say!) We are meeting in Mission Viejo off Alicia parkway at the Target at 9:00 am. I guess no one is going to meet in brea for the ride down to MV? Let me know...

By the way Beef sticks anit the problem I have a great beef stick! LMAO.. however the rice may be a challenge! LOL..

Jimbo your not going to CC in Irvine? IM me or call!

Just a note here.. I was flattered when someone asked my son to have the black Speedie in a parade at their homecoming game this Friday evening.. No he's not in the court! One of his girl- friends asked him to ask me if she could use my car in the parade. This should be very cool as long as she isn't THAT big! LOL...

Speedster "D" Stick this!

Desi - If you don't have any balute, then bring some bittle nut for us to chew, as long as you don't go 'native' on us!! BTW- that's not Pidgeon, it was from Rocky's post on the 'Anything Goes/Top This' thread. We can incorporate a 'poker run' in this cruise.

Speedster 'D', My Brutha from Anutha Mutha! - What would be REALLY cool is if your son could drive the Speedster in the Homecoming Parade with babes on board! He would remember that day for the rest of his life!! Peace - Out, from Unda Cuva Brutha! (I'll call you)

Bruce - sounds like we shoulda had the Tech Day at YOUR house and help install & detail your new engine. You should meet us in Mission Viejo anyway, join us in the cruise to Adrian's (there will be open right-seats, or follow us in your 'other' car), and shoot the sh** with us knucklehead SoCal SOC'ers over some burgers/dogs!!

Lazy8 - while our significant others & wives often join us and are ALWAYS welcome, it sounds like this particular event may be an XY chromosome gathering, except for Speedster 'D' who's missing a chromosome ;-). In THAT event, in order to keep your MAN CARD in good standing, NEVER use the word 'salad' in any conversation with this group, especially 'Fruit Salad'!! At our last Tech Nite, it was obvious it was all XY because there was not a single vegetable stick, quiche pie or spinach-dip anywhere on the premises. BTW - have you bought another KZ-1000 cycle yet?

Bobsled - it would be cool if you brought some pics of your art gallery and metal sculptures!

Roy (rrmc1) - hope you can join us for this lazy-day cruise through the canyons and BS session at Adrian's.

Will - It'll be good to see you before you head back to Florida, my Brutha!
