On my way back from a recent trip, I came across a dead mountain lion in the road. Never seen one except in pictures. I know they've seen me when I ride the MTB but I've never seen THEM.

I drug the cat out of the road (very heavy - 120 lbs?). Then took the picture of the cat's hands with my hand. Remember that I have rather large hands...

The most amazing thing about this creature is that it was solid muscle. Nothing but power under the fur.

Going to start riding the MTB with the 380 strapped to me. Cause if one of these gets ahold of me - I'm cat chow... angela

Actually, I think that I'll just start riding with someone. Someone slow. Someone slower than me.... On the theory that the slowest one is the chosen prey?

Problem is, it's hard to find someone who is slower than myself. So back to the pistol. My 380 won't do it? I really like that gun. Also have a Glock 9mm but it's quite a bit bulkier.

Maybe I'll just shoot a big flare gun and scare the cat to death! Or get a gun that shoot squirrels instead of bullets - oh THAT's it! A squirrel gun.

380 will not slow him down...not too wild about the nine mm either..I have a 40 cal and a 45, both good items to slow anything short of elephant down....
Just remember that they usually ambush their prey so quickly its usually a done deal so put it where you can use it!!

Michael
I beg to differ, technically a .380 will put him down, as would a .22!! its all about shot placement. Having said that i would go with a bigger caliber like a .40 or .45, due to the fact you may not have the chance for good shot placement. nick him with a .45 is like getting a good clean shot with a .380. Are you proficient with a .40 or .45? go to the range and start shooting the thing ASAP. and get used to pulling the thing out of the holster or wherever you keep it so it is second nature. There's my 2 cents.
Hey Michael, how is the car proceeding? Mark Reid is also in Katy and has a Spyder, did a run with him and Steve C last Sat up to Montgomery for brunch, pancakes and beer.....you able to join us on our next outing? Also, there is a good little local car show Sat night on Spring Cypress in between 249 and Stubner Airline...about 40 miles from Katy but pretty good show.....drop me a line when you can come out and play...
