Well, last Friday, the sun finally showed it's face in NH! Sure, there were some clouds, but nothing too serious. Marc & I jumped at the chance for a ride out to the beach (a little over an hours ride) Marc was so happy to have sun that he didn't even argue about who got to drive first (ME!) It was great while it lasted! Luckily, we have some friend that have a farmhouse & barn in that neck of the woods! We pulled up as the clouds were growing darker. Spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out, while Speedy got some quality time with some other classics ~ so all was not lost!
Heading home was the best part! Still got caught by some rain, but not a drop came inside! Marc was driving by then. I was too busy laughing and taking pics to even notice that we still got a million "thumbs up" from people passing by... to include a Cobra going the other way! (Very cool car!) Thought I'd include a pic of the barn & the other classics, plus the really neat rainbow following the rain!... Susie

Will, good eye! It's a Packard in the bubble but I don't remember what year. JB is in the process of restoring quite a few old cars. This one is in the works but the barn has a "minor" flaw ~ it's home to a lot of bats and NOTHING will make them leave! Actually, it's not the bats that are the flaw, it's all the bat sh*t that they leave behind. The bubble was the solution. They run anywhere from $400-500 depending on the size.
And Lane ~ that may very well be an antique mower!!! Everything in that place is OLD! I wonder if I could photoshop it out? Probably be easier to just take another ride out to the old barn for more photo-ops!

Oops... I'm in deep trouble! JB ~ the owner of the barn & classics told me that I got his cars mixed up!!! His Packard is up in Maine being worked on & isn't the one in the picture! The car in the bubble is a 1937 LaSalle ~ a rare one with a rumble seat, he said. JB is as passionate about his old classics as we are about our Speedsters and couldn't believe I'd said it was a Packard. So, I stand corrected! Actually ~ I told him that I was just getting even with him for holding that lit cigar OVER my car! =)
Susan, great pictures but I'm surprised that the owner isn't upset that your posting pic's that are so cast about on the www. If that was my barn, it'd be a secret place. I don't like strangers to know about the '32, '60, and two '67's all in addition to the "Hunny". Last night I cracked open the bottle of "Carlisle--2009" wine with the spaghetti dinner Nancy cooked up. That was excellent!! Thanks for your contribution to the raffle. I loved it. You are going to bring more next year, right? ps: I think Andy ate most of the truffles before we got home.
John... I'm so glad that the wine you & Nancy opened was still good! I had a Milan trip last month and the La Vineria was being renovated and nothing was for sale! Too many airline crews are going there, and they've gone High Tech, I think! I love the wine from there ~ no bad bottles yet! And, for sure, you can count on more bottles for next year, as long as my airline stays in business! (fingers crossed that I don't have to get a "real" job!!!) Glad you enjoyed it!!! And thanks again to Theresa, who gave me the use of the Carlisle Logo for the label!
