Hi everyone,

I was wondering if any of you have used or have experience of the Builder's Choice engine kits sold by CB Performance? Specifically I'm looking at the 2165cc 160 bhp version as below:

If you have built an engine like this I'd be grateful if you could pass on your experiences with the kit.

Thanks in advance.

no I havent used thier kits,, but have used a lot of thier stuff, rods, heads, cams, bearings, etc. it's all good stuff, but did you read the entire discription??hp is with 48 ida carbs 1 3/4" header and so on. if your going to build a motor and spending good $$ on it make it a big one so there will be plenty of power if you need it, remember it is your foot that regulates the power.I have a 2332&2028cc and another undetermaned size in prosess of deciding witch size to make it, 86 or 88 stroke, just havent decided yet it was to be another small motor( 2028) as a test bed agnist a known motor, but I think Ill throw that out the window & go biger than the 2332 witch is a lot more power than my 2028, even though the 2332 is low cr(9.3 vs 10.4) and they both had the same cams & induction&exhaust.. if I were you I would not spend that kind of $ with out going with atleast 84mm stroke.(84x94=2332) depending on how you drive it would determan the heads, either the lost ponchetos cnc ported for a mild very torquey low rpm motor(5000) or the miniwedge ports for about the same torque but a shitload more top end horsepower, or even the superpros for a tad more, rember it's your foot that controls what your ass feals, but if you dont give your foot enough your butt may regrett it.and for how much$$ not much at all. build it right, build it once and forget about it and go have fun. and make sure all parts are balanced and cam lobes are debured.dfl coated bearings are also great addtion.
