I ran across this image of Britney Spears driving her new Speedster replicar. I know that Jay Leno also has a Speedster replicar. Does anyone else have information on other "celebrity" Speedster owners. BTW: this is the text that accompanied the image:

"James Dean is way hotter in his Porsche Spyder than Britney Spears is in her Speedster. Also, James' Spyder was an original whereas Brit's is probably a kit replica. Vintage Porsches are very rare and range in the upper six and lower seven figures. Not that Brit can't afford that, but given that there's a store in Malibu Country Mart that sells the replica Speedster and Spyder and usually has one on site, I bet that Brit snatched one up there for around 20K-- probably around the amount Brit spends on a typical day out shopping. For shallow guys (without a lot of cash) wanting to impress shallow Barbie dolls, this is the car to buy. In Cannes, DK and I saw a guy in a Speedster that was getting stopped by people constantly. It's also a great car to buy if you don't have any friends. Their campaign should be: Drive to Impress"

I did find the image of Leno's CMC Speedster :-)The Text Reads -

1955 CMC 356 Speedster C Widebody | August 3, 2007
You're looking at my CMC Widebody replica of a 1955 356 Speedster. Its been upgraded with Carrera wheels, disc brakes, electronic ignition and other modern conveniences. This car is a weekend toy thats fun to drive and gets lots of attention!

I think my (1SXE-TUB) is the same platform.

Gerd,

I, along with my 1SXE-TUB, call sunny Daytona Beacch, Florida home.

BTW: Here is the link to Jay Leno's Garage, where I came across the image.

http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_garage/cars/4956.shtml

He also has another Speedster listed:

Now that a I took another look at his site it appears that these are uploaded image from visitors to his site. I would imagine that if Jay owned a Speedster he would probably have the $$$$ real deal. OK guys and gals, upload your Speedster.

:-)
