I live in Lompoc and would like to meet with someone who has knowledge of air cooled VW's and replica speedsters. I have a decent car but it has many small issues. Anyone have any recommendations/ connections.

Under "Members" click on the box that reads "Sort by Display Name" and change it to "View as Map". Click on North America and scroll in to get close to your city. Click on the Red Flag thing and it'll give you the name of someone close to you. You could Dialog them and ask questions.
Otherwise post all of the small issues you're having and the regular users on this site will offer up suggestions to help you fix the issues.

I should have added that most of your questions will be answered by just posting the problem you are having just be as specific as you can. There are some VERY knowledgeable people, Dr. Clock, Gordon Nichols, justinh, and others (sorry if I didn't mention you specifically) on this forum that are very active. The people you find that are closest to you may not be active on the site and you'd wait for months for an answer.
