Well I pulled the trigger and had my Speedster and Audi ceramic coated by the pros. It is supposed to last for 5 years and bugs should just wipe off, I had the glass treated as well. I will keep you all informed on how it holds up.

Joe - that is some impressive looking work. Thanks for sharing. I'm considering coating my VS. Are you happy with the outcome? Is the car's appearance noticeably different? Did you have any detailing done before the coating was applied (e.g. a color correction?) What product was used? How long did it take? Where did you get it done? What did it cost to coat the Speedster?
What parts were coated ?...............Bruce
@Ron P I am very happy with the outcome. I had a few paint imperfections on the driver side door and even with the clear bra there was etching. It took about 2.5 hours and they did it in my garage. Price $500.00 and if it holds up as advertised well worth it INHO.
This is what they did to prep the cars.
- Stage 3 Paint Correction
- 21 step Deionized wash
- Iron Decontamination Wash
- Clay bar treatment
- Professional corrected surface with Rupes / Flex Dual action Buffer
- Professional polished Surface
- 5 Year SB3 Alpha Warrantied 9H Ceramic Coating / IGL Kenzo 10h
- SB3 Coating
@aircooled they coated paint, trim and chrome. I did not have them do the wheels. The windshield is coated as well, I am not sure what product they used.
For $500.00, that seems a good deal, considering all they did in prep.

I'll say. That'd be at least $1000 down here.

Yes, seems like a great deal. Coincidentally, there is a certified SB3 guy a few blocks from me. I have some paint chips and a fresh scratch to repair before coating it. Will post pics after. Thanks again for taking the time to share.
Oh yeah, in our neck of the woods it is a lot more $.
I had the same thing put on my Speedster two years ago. Aside from a few rock chips, paint still looks brand new and I never give her a bath (just a detail spray and micro-cloth)...
I just watched a YouTube video about this stuff called ‘Technician’s Choice TEC582’ so I ordered a small spray bottle from Amazon and I’m going to try it. I don’t think it can hurt.
