Not a fan of the red interior, but (assuming the body work was done well) it certainly has potential.

914 front seats? And are those 911 rear seat backs or is that what the seats actually looked like in this year 356?

Man, that's red --- must be owned by a Fireman! Please hold Cory back. I had '63 356 Karman Knotch Back with the folding 911 style rear seats like that.

The first one looks like a good deal; especially if the bodywork has been done well; get a nice motor; missing parts from salvage yards or Klasse 356 and you're in business! I'd swap the 914 seats, though.

"I'd swap the 914 seats, though."
I know, same here.
I've always thought that they would look totally race-ready and right in a coupe, but they look kinda thin, narrow, and cheaply made. Plus the roll back head rest (upper piece) looks silly without the 914 rear bulkhead padding that it "sit" in.
Too bad, I really wanted to use my mine.

It looks like some one took a dump in the engine bay and got the car up to temp and let it cook a while.

You're RIGHT ! ! What IS goin' on with that engine?
Of course, it's still a Porsche engine, money in the bank, dump included.

That shell is tempting. Keep 'em coming, TC. Sooner or later, I'll chomp.
