I was installing a rear disk brake kit, when I noticed the rear axles ( IRS) seemed to make a little bit of noise. Sooo I have new bearings on order. What is the easiest way to get the axles out of the control arms? I think they need to be pressed out. Has anybody changed these before? any pitfalls to look out for?

Thanks
Tom

depending on if you want to change the inner or the outer... i just pulled out my outer of my IRS a few nights ago. very straight forward.

to change the inner - just remove the axle. CV joint allan bolts (6 per i beleive) and 5 minutes later - you have access to it.
You have to drive the inner bearing out. There are two notches in the race that allow you to get a good punch on them. When you prese them in, I just used a door hole saw to cut a wood circle the right size and then put a bolt through to the outer side, again through a board, and then tightened the nut to pull the bearing in squarely. Be sure to pack that grease into the replacement bearing. I do it in the palm of my hand by putting a little grease in the cup of the palm and slapping the bearing ont it till it pushes out the open side.
