i may have figured it out. I had an intermittent failure until I changed the battery and then I had a hard failure.
Nice theory. No sign of battery cable damage. Bill Demeter has offered to come over here this afternoon. Maybe he can figure it out.
I wish you lived closer, Tom.
When you’ve eliminated the probable causes only the improbable remain no matter how implausible.
Confirmed I ordered the right one. Amazon is sending a free replacement due Wednesday and I don't have to send back this one :-)
Well don't THAT just frost ya!
You put in something new and believe it's going to work and......Bupka!
That kind of stuff has been driving people nuts forever.
Glad you found the culprit!
Did you order it with the terminal posts? When I got mine the standard battery had screw-on posts for use with automotive battery cable. If they are still the same I wonder if one of them could somehow be the cause?
Lane, I ordered the one with automotive posts. The battery was so bad it couldn't event light Bill's test light. I put is on the charger and it was fully charged and it was measuring voltage on the voltmeter. That's what through me off. It just wasn't putting out any amperage.
Glad I ordered via Amazon Prime. Free replacement coming and I don't have to send the old one back.
Hopefully, I'll be back in business Wednesday evening.
Weird. Well, I'm glad you found the problem. I suppose every manufacturer can let a bad one get out the door on ocassion.
