The silver coupe is a bit over done in the interior but I like it. Perhaps not so much mauve inside, some black or burgandy. Black steering wheel, trim the carpets in a darker color. The center consol looks great, again in a darker color. The dash might look better in the exterior color. Trim or flatten the scoops a bit and it would look a bit slicker. The Flares are perfect. I love the paint detail over the flares. And the chopped top is exciting,I like it. I would like some nice deep 930 Fuchs on it though, probably black petals, although some original finish RS Fuchs would be sweet, with inlaid crests on the center caps of course.
For Nolan and me no PIMPMOBILES or RICEBURNERS....I also dislike large diameter rims fit for horsedrawn carriages........so much for the "European" look....On that 356, the only thing I like is the stock motor (which kind of looks out of place with all the "customization" that has taken place). I bet the Maestro Harry Pellow is rolling in his grave....God bless his soul.
Harry was not a "purist", he was a great engineer and inovative thinker. He enjoyed things done the right way not necessarily the stock or concours way. He had a great fun car, I believe it was a C coupe that he speedsterized. He also posted once on the 356 registry talk list, and I can't remember his exact quote after someone refered to replicas "yes they are different, they're better"

I met and talked to Harry several times in the past 25 years at swaps and other events, if Harry is rolling over in his grave, it is to get a better look.
I read about Harry's car in his articles and he also mentions some sort of a mutant 356 and describes it in a tongue-in-cheek way. I guess the only way I'd consider doing that to a car would be: 1. If I were Boyd Coddington or 2. If the thing was a total beater to start with. If I were the owner I'd sell the original running gear and stick in a newer 911 one.
Wasn't the 356 on eBay last year? It seems that that seller had some comprehensive photos of his detail work. My take then was the guy was a custom car character and was on to something.

I'd like to see him do a second coupe with what he learned from the first. I too think there isn't enough engine in back. I'm still formulating how much wheel and tire should fill a wheel well and what proportion of each looks best.

I am not a fan of the low, low low profile tire (read no rubber side wall or black) paired with too much bling-bling wheel (read chrome). There's probably some magic potion Mr. Fuch found for his wheels to fit so many P-car applications.

The wheel that look trick would be the HRE311 (?) that was essentially a standard five spoke Fuch sandwhiched into new inner and outer rims with all those cool little nuts around the edge. WOW!

Spyders, eh...unless they are flared like I saw (I don't want to start anything here) Thunder Ranch do and an engine like Angelas. The rest of 'em leave me sleepy.
