Actually, prior to late 1956 pretty much everyone ran the Aero outside mirrors.

Late 1956 on was a free-for-all with Aero, Talbot, MGB-style, you name it. Pretty much anything the customer wanted the dealer would attach, since the Speedster came from the factory with no outside mirrors attached.

I guess if you bought a Speedster you bought it for racing and didn't need any outside mirrors?

I still like what he did with that car.....
I came across that car several months ago. Really like it, did a clean job for sure. I was going to email him and ask what size tires he was running, the car sits just right in my opinion. thats back when i was on a kick to get the stance just where i want it on mine. For the third time since i purchased it. These "to-do's seem to be cyclical. I am back to trying to perfect my shifting set up. In a couple months Ill be back to a gas heater install. Isnt the definition of madness doing the same thing over and over again?
If that is primer with a clearcoat paint job it looks great.

And what's realy nice is it would be the simplest paint job to touch up or blend off if damaged. I

might just try this on my beetle. It's a daily driver and its always getting chips and dings that I have to keep patching, Untill it and I are retired from daily use thats the norm.
