@ROBTRANSGUY- I take it this is your car?  Can you tell me what camshaft is in the new 2007 cc engine?  How high does it rev with power in 3rd gear? Or, where do you first feel the power start to fall off?  Do you know what ring & pinion is in the trans now?  Be careful with the 'freeway flier' idea- you could create a 5mph hole where it's revving too high in 3rd to sit there very long yet it's revving too low in 4th to properly cool itself going up long hills.  I would put a longer r&p in it before a longer 4th gear.  You'll find that VW was smarter than you realize- if it was as easy as using a longer 4th, don't you think VW would have done it long ago?

The body does not look that bad , it would be nice to have some photos of the firewall and rear / side engine compartment pieces.

not a fan of chrome engine sheet metal  , but having a new motor is a nice plus….

Yes, it does look like it wouldn't take that much to bring it up to snuff.  And at the right price, if all the chrome engine sheet metal doesn't suit you (and I would feel the same way!) you could just replace it.

Yes it's mine. I haven't done any revving yet. Still doing the break in. Uncertain about the cam Scat built it. It's got lots of torque. Trans has unknown ratio but cruises well at 65 - 70 MPH. Trans is noisy in reverse and 1st gear is sometimes a bit hard to find. Just thinking about selling the car and wondered what you folks thought of the car and asking price...
