I just filled some small chips on my fenders right above the headlights. I had a pint of touch up paint mixed by the local automotive paint store and bought a can of spray-on clear at the same time. I mixed about a thimble full of paint in a small Dixie cup and added reducer until it was a bit thin. I used a small artists paint brush that I had trimmed to a point with scissors to dab it into the chips. I didn't try to fill it to surface level in one application but went back the next day and added a second coat. Once it completely dried...I waited a couple of days, I over filled with clear. I didn't spray it on, I sprayed it into another Dixie cup and dabed it on top of the color I put on earlier. Waited a couple more days and rubbed with compound and then swirl remover. No more chips!

One sure way to prevent getting chips is to never drive the car but that's no fun..........:)

I'm surprised nobody on here has mentioned it yet, but several people on the list have used the Lanka repair kit and had good things to say about it. http://www.langka.com/ I bought it, but have not used it yet.

I know that some people really like the 3M film applied to their car, but everytime I hear about it I am reminded of going to my grandmothers house as a child and sitting on her couch with a clear plastic cover over it.

I also have a full size bra that covers the entire hood and front of the fenders, which most people on here hate, but it works...if you use it, which I seldom do.

I'll just live with the small chips until they are bad enough to repair and then I'll fix them. I think of them as badge of honor that shows that I actually drive my car.
