They are more like coatings. I think the Nyalic would be thicker but easier to apply. It comes from the space program.

I tried POR-15 Glisten on my wheels and was a bit unhappy with the result. It didn't turn out totally smooth.

The Zoopseal was developed for aluminum but supposedly works for chrome too.

I have had to replace all my chrome bits including the wheels. So, I am very interested in protection.
Michael,
Many years ago, I purchased Nyalic from Eastwood. I wasn't happy with the results. The stuff runs and appears to cast a yellow tint on the item your applying it to.

I'd rather use Mothers on the Aluminum and "Invisible Glass" cleaner on the Chrome

(Several mothers that live in my neighborhood polish aluminum)

I used nyalic on my polished Fuchs and it made all the imperfections show it also took some of the shine away. These were highly and freshly polished. It looked like it "crazied". I applied it correctly. I can send you a pic.

Lots of outdoor brass art objects are covered in permalac. A artist friend told me about it. Another friend that was in the Navy said they used it on their brass items.

I can post a artist website that recomends it for his $$$$$ installations.

http://www.johnmedwedeff.com not a friend but my friend recommened him.

I used it on some cheap chrome pieces(Knock-offs and trim rings) I got from JC Whitney and they haven't rusted yet. Without Permalac, I could hear them rusting in the box.
