Chrome Headlight Grill

Anyone have the chrome headlight grill on their speedy?
I wanted to buy him one, but was talked out-of-it by a friend
that put the grills on his kit cobra. He said they rust out
fast. Is that true??

Definitely NOT true for a nine year old JPS. Others may have different chrome quality. It IS a bitch to get large dead bugs out from under the vertical grille bars though.

Mike, Spray some Invisible Glass on the headlights and run your finger up and down the vertical with a micro fiber cloth. Not so bad and it looks cool with the grills.

I bought the grills and after fighting with installing them for a couple of days I discovered that they don't fit flush at the bottom and I didn't like the look. I returned them and bought a pair of fluted lenses. They obscure the view of the inside of the headlight bucket and I like the look much more. I never thought about the bug cleaning problem or I would have never bought them in the first place.

Mine are made of cast aluminum.....

5 years old and still like new..

Great picture. Looks like your is a heavier gauge steel
than others I've seen.

They were on the car so I don't know where they came from. I wonder if Henry up at Intermeccanica would have any information.

From what I can see, your original glass lense is left off
the headlight assembly, and this takes its place?

That is correct.. The outer glass lense is not used.

there was a thread just a few weeks ago about how to use the glass and lens if you are interested.
