Anybody have a source for chroming? I am considering getting my Reutrter Rack chromed. Not sure if it makes any $ sense.

You're right I do need to chill until that other car gets here. I just can't help myself. Now that the green car is done I have to tinker with something . . . Chrome rack for the speedster seemed like as good as any project to tackle until that other car arrives. Speedy is still out of commission with a front trans mount in need of replacement. Guess I should tackle that first. It's just not as much fun as a chrome rack. I like racks!

FWIW I would agree with a chrome Reutter luggage rack. Aside from giving the car additional detail, I think it also adds to the Walter Mitty in us that daydreams of travels to destinations unknown.

Anyway, before I get more girlie about destinations, I've included a couple of pics of the Reutter (with/without luggage) I found at European Collectibles that still had decent chrome on it. Don't forget to check with SOC Dusty Johnson about some cool leather straps for that bad boy!!

Thanks Jim - Already have Dusty's great straps! My rack is the only thing on this car that isn't shiny. Kind of looks out of place now that I have seen that chrome version on that red original. Yours looks great and has me thinking chrome is the way to go.

Tom: you weren't down my way yesterday were you? If not, I saw your twin driving your Speedie's twin...luggage rack and all.

Have you thought of powder coated in a metalic silver? Kind of like original?

I am very pleased with the work done by, Advantage plating and powder coating. in Nashville Tnn. they did all my Drauzs parts.

They arn't cheep!! but they do concourse quality work.
