I just got new chrome side trim from JPS and I'm not quite sure how to make sure it goes on correctly? It came with little white clips to fasten the trim to but the trim is slightly curved. The piece that goes over the rear wheel well fits perfectly. The piece that goes along the door is one piece so I have to cut the little piece that fits between the jam and the door handle (no biggie) but the piece that goes over the front wheel well has a slight downward curve to it which seems odd? Does this make sense? How do I ensure that I drill the holes for the clips so the trim fits to meet the curve? Help! Thanks, Mickey

The CMC build manual from the SOC library section invites the use of a grease pencil to make lines with and to "stick" the molding on based on that line. Not especially helpful, but better than nothing:

My guess would be that you'll have to make a decision on whether you'll want your molding on parallel to the ground or parallel to the bottom edge of your car. If your car is like mine, and seemingly like most here, you'll see that the height of the body from the ground is measurable higher toward the rear, but that the line of the trim is actually a gradual arch when it's applied.
Here's what mine looked like, if that helps.
