I thought that I would see if anyone is interested in a set of (4) wheels and hubcaps before I listed them elsewhere. They are 5 1/2" wide Mangels, in excellent condition. They have 4 1/4" backspacing.
No rust. The hubcaps are new, not even dirty yet. They came with the Speedster kit that I bought, but I am going to wide 5.
I would like $250.00 for the wheels and hubcaps, plus shipping from 77657. I will ship in two boxes, two wheels per box. Approx. 16" x 16" x 12".

And what's the lesson Ron? Buy low sell high? I am just envious, I was only thinking today after removing the 914 seats from my car, and installing more period appropriate seats, that the 914 Fuchs should come off and replaced with 4 lug Mangels. But maybe I should do the 5 wide thing (looks great) but I need to deal with the drivers side rear wheel well. Too close to the tire.
I spent most of the day learning tonneau snaps and installation of the new VS tonneau cover, now that there is not headroom issues with the hi rise seats.
Are you close to English Bay? Malone's Grill ?
I so enjoyed the Vancouver area, when I was there on business in the mid 90's.
Back then the Vancouver downtown was great. Top class restaurants and great drinking holes.

Art- Ron's out in the valley, about 1 1/2hrs or so from English Bay, and I live just outside Vancouver, about 1/2hr from downtown. With kids in the house and so much in the suburbs now we almost never go downtown anymore. He was referring to the seat sale fiasco of a month or so ago...
Wide 5 with discs all around would be really cool, but yeah, you'd have to figure out the clearance issue with the one wheel well. Is your car swingaxle or irs? Al

What does your car have for a front suspension? I ask because super beetles came with macpherson struts, which would be more work to put in a Speedster, what with having to build the top mounting points for the struts into the body work.
Vancouver was even better in the 60's and 70's (caution, old person talking here).
I wish I'd gone with wide fives when I restored my IM. Unfortunately, to change over now would be very expensive.
Not sure there was a lesson for me to learn on the seat issue, but a couple of others on the list might have learned something about etiquette.

Al; the front shock is not mounted, at its top to the body, nor is it wrapped in a coil. Thus no Macpherson strut, yes?

You've got a beetle beam then, Art. The framehead of the beetle pan is different than the superbeetle attachment points, and that's why I asked.
Has anyone built or owned a 356 replica with a super beetle pan?
There was a SB front conversion kit offered by CMC - it's in their build manual. Gordon had that kit at one time, if I recall. You could always cut off the SB front bit and weld on the replacement H beam parts. Don't most later SBs come with 3.88 R&P in trans too.
