chrome wipers

I would like to replace the black wipers with chrome, can anyone tell where I could get a set.

If your wipers work fine; why not just paint them with some good heat resistant (because of the sun's rays depending on where you live) paint? If I recall correctly, the wiper arms on 356's were silver and not chrome. My friend JJR just painted his for a more accurate look and they came out great; maybe he can post some pictures....

Just send them out to a chrome shop

If you have the 5.2mm straight shafts ....Just about any of the Street Rod parts suppliers has them ! If you have the VW tapered fit type , I have no clue...... Alan M

thanks Bill you may have the easiest answer to my problem. I have also been thinking about ways to simply remove the black finish on my set.

I just bought a set of Bosch wiper arms a couple of weeks ago. They are painted silver. As my wiper gear came from a 72 VW, I ordered as such. OEM list calls for differing arms for passenger and drivers sides. The drivers side arm is too long(and straight)for a Speedster.
The passenger side wiper arm is a tad shorter and has a mild bend to it and clears the top of the w/shield frame. So if you order VW wiper arms, buy two passenger side arms.
Uh..Anybody with a Bug need a drivers side wiper arm?

PS. You have to use 10" blades with these wiper arms.

Not to be negative, but you're going to get a whole lot of glare off of the shafts on sunny days.

My thoughts too, the wipers stick up on the glass and that will be a glare problem going into the sun. They are black for that reason I'm sure!

You will most likely have to do as I did.

Hunt a all metal set and send them off to the platers.

I went with Advantage Plating ,and Powder coating. In Nashville TNN.

VERY Pricey But good workmenship.

I was going to have a set chromed as well. However, I discovered that chrome wipers are actually illegal in many states because of the danger of driver's being blinded by glare.
