Since this will be my first Speedster show I am very exicted to see all the cars together. Since I have zero experience around you all how do owners look upon Speedsters that are not completely stock looking ie...engines, interiors, still very sharp but not stock? Also at these show's are ther different classes. My car is alittle more modern than stock. Hoep you all like it as much as I do.

Lance,

We are having two classes, one for the 356 Speedsters/Roadsters and one for the 550 Spyders. You will vote on one in each class by whatever trips your trigger about it. I'll guarentee there will be no two cars alike! Some people even vote for their own car, can you believe that? We have 3 trophies in each class of 356/550, a long distance drive trophy, and a trophy called the "Spirit Award" that goes to someone that we feel has embodied the essence of our club.

Anyway, don't feel threatened by all this, it is about the friendships that have developed over the SOC web site. I think a lot of the fun will be meeting all these people that regularly contribute so much to make this a great place to reside. I think we'll all come away with future projects that somebody has done, a real show and tell. I think having the manufacturers there to talk to us and answer questions is something we are all looking for. So if all of you have things you'd like to see them do, fire away. A replica coupe sounds primo to me!

Bruce
Knott's class for our cars is "porsche". There are two catagories, Manufacture, and Whatever. Or individual, or personal or private or ? All I am sure of is "Manufacture". Our group has several other classes thanks to our fearless leaders, John and Bruce. The thing to remember is have a great time. Paul how is the install going? You are traveling on Friday, correct?
Paul,

John and I are soon to known as the psycho organizors, not psuedo, kind of spelled the same. but.......

Just checked the Buena Park weather and it looks like a 10. John Leader is pulling strings to get us the good weather. We better get out of town quick on Sunday or Monday because the Gods may want their
due!

Seems like it is all coming together fairly well, I hope everyone is excited about this as I am.

Bruce
Yeah, My trip inbound is a little dicey. I may run scattered thrundershowers for 200 miles, then run a abeam/below a line on the Colorado, Utah, Nevada borders. That's from looking at the NOAA/NWS Forcast Precip maps.

What does the Sun eve/ Mon morn outlook show? I may leave Sunday afternoon and just push all night and hole upduring the morning somewhere.

Jim
Earth to Mike! Try Knotts Berry Farms next weekend! You can go to the Applegate the following weekend.

Jim, the Buena Park forecst looks good thru Monday after the show. Take a look at the Intellicast feature that John Leader has set up on the Replica Rendezvous site here. It is near the bottom of the page, keep scrolling down, you'll see it. Pretty cool.

See ya Thursday afternoon, Bruce
On top of being a pseudo-organizer of the event, Bruce hit the nail on the head along with Vince...It's whatever floats YOUR boat. There are lots of opportunities to interpret how we see our 'Porch-ees'.

There ain't no right or wrong in a fraternity of free spirits with open minds (and walletzzz)a few wrenches and a spray cup!

I look forward to seeing your car!
P.

Oh and in the eyes of the AHA NCKCC folks I think we are all sports class 'C'

PPS I see by your handle 'equineguy' you must have something to do with horses?
Dale,
Assuming me engine gets in in time, and assuming I don't blow it up or twist the car into a pretzel Wednesday night showing Rick how a clutch works,(you guys remember VSOP, that's the two year old replica with 800 miles on it) I too will be pulling out Thursday.

The Harfords did not get the Magellan gene. We can't find the mall without guidance. Back to school night is a challenge even though it is still the same one-room scholl, oops, school, house we all attended. A trip to the coast is always a new experience...Dad found it by way of Arizona once.

I will now be on your porch Thursday 0400. I booked an extra night at the marriott...it beats splainin' how I got lost! 0500,oops
