Got to the fourth jet remove-and-install on my Webers and the holder came out without the jet. I'm on the right rear jet, and an already difficult access is compounded by a heater hose. Nearly impossible to see what I'm doing. I tried to poke at the jet with a screwdriver, assuming it would fall right out. Tried to aim some canned air into the hole but hard to do with only two hands. Has anyone run into this and is there a simple trick? Please help. I've got the car in a local show tomorrow.

Rich. You can try closing the splays on the end of the idle jet screw a little tighter, then re-insert the screw and hand tighten so that the splayed end goes back over the idle jet, then unscrew and hopefully it comes out with your jet. If that doesn't work then use a small/narrow screw driver (like for eye-glass repair, except longer) and fish it out.

I copied Dale Bate's idle jet tool (patent pending)... use a small stubby screwdriver and grind off the edge that tends to hit the carb body. Also, you can grind some of the handle (sides) down so that you have a better fit. To install the o-ring I put it on a small punch and use that to get it into the hole evenly. To clean the jet I use some slightly smaller gauge copper wire to run through it with a little carb cleaner, and then blow it out.

You can see the right (passenger side) idle jet by looking into the bay from the rear. The left one is hard to see from any angle.

Look at CB Perf. and check out their Idle Jet Doctor kits. I'm using a pair with good results.
