I've got from now 'till March to make minor upgrades before trying to register the car. One of those changes would be to simplify future clutch cable replacements. Has anyone cut a hole thru the passenger side of the tunnel for access to the front end of the cable? If so, how big did the hole need to be, and what do you use for reaching thru the tunnel and seating the cable end on the hook.....or is this a bad idea?

It's always been a BAD idea to cut into the tunnel. It's the backbone of your car..

It's not really that tough to remove the pedal assembly to facilitate clutch cable work. A better idea is to modify your pedal assembly and install a hyraulic clutch slave, or install a new pedal assembly that allows for a slave.
