Hi Folks,

Hope someone can sort out my stupidity......

Stuck in a new clutch kit on the speedie I'm building....When I start the engine, the wheels turn, but can be easily stopped with your foot...Even when in gear...

What have I done wrong !! I could not see how the release bearing supplied with the kit fiitted, so I used the old one.....and, after trying to get it in gear, its now a bit mangled.

There was also an issue with a rubbish cable shortening kit, but even when I manually pulled the lever, I was still having gear changing issues..

Have I got a mis match of bits :(

Chassis is '67, I've no idea what the box is...

You have the wrong TO bearing! Your older TO bearing is for the older style clutch which has a ring on it so the TO bearing rides on it. The later TO bearing rides on the clutch fingers without a ring plus the late TO also rides along a tube guide that keeps it aligned. Two options, the pressure plate clutch sometimes come with the removable adapter, if it does leave installed or reinstall it if you removed it. If it did not come with one, get one. Other option is to get an adapter tube that fits in place of the output shaft seal and then you can use the later TO and pressure plate.
Good luck!
