Clutch Pedal Stop

I don't mean the piece bolted to the floor that stops the brake and clutch pedals.

I just discovered that some clutch pedals have a little arm the extends forward near the top of the pedal. It hits the "firewall" when the clutch pedal is depressed.

My clutch pedal doesn't have this.

Is it important?

Am I depressing the pedal too much without it?

I don't think it matters much, most drivers just depress the pedal just enough to disengage it to be able to shift. ~Alan

Yeah, if it's adjusted right you'll prob'ly be a couple of inches+ from the foot bulkhead when fully disengaged.

If you DO happen to push farther on the pedal nothing much happens - the clutch won't blow up, the cable won't fall off, and you won't slow down faster.

But you WILL get a little more exercise in your left leg...you might need that, anyway.

Mine doesn't have it either and I'm all the way to the floor.
